Greatoneshere
The source material is probably very good, I haven't read the book but it's written by Joe R. Lansdale, whose books have been adapted into Bubba Ho-Tep, Cold in July and the TV show Hap and Leonard, all pretty great. However, the director here is Elliot Lester, whose made five movies so far, none of which are rated well (Love is the Drug, Blitz, Nightingale, Sleepwalker and Aftermath). Not a good sign. He's worked with a different screenwriter with every one of his movies, so maybe it's more about the screenplay than the director. Maybe if Lester gets a good screenplay he's capable of making a good movie. But the screenwriter is Chris Kelley, an unproven writer who has only done two episodes of the TV show Banshee and one episode of the TV show Preacher and that's it. So some positives and some negatives, we'll see.
