Jason
Googling around, this Dell one comes up a lot but apparently it has really bad QA so it's a big lottery on whether you get a panel without major problems, plus fast IPS is apparently shit for movies/TV. But it seems like a flat 27"-32" 4K monitor with a better type of panel costs an arm and a leg. This Alienware 1440p one looks like it'd be better image quality but I was hoping to get a 4K so I can just mirror my monitor and TV once I upgrade my TV to a 4K. Any thoughts? Should I just get an OLED 1440p one for now? My searches also tell me that g-sync should work fine even if a monitor isn't explicitly labeled as g-sync compatible. Also been seeing that you need a monitor that supports DisplayPort DSC to get VRR+HDR at 4K but it shouldn't be necessary at 1440p right? nVidia only put one HDMI port on the 4070 and that's reserved for my TV, and apparently HDMI 2.1 splitters aren't a thing. They're not expensive, but not $10 either. 5 minutes ago, Jason said: Googling around, this Dell one comes up a lot but apparently it has really bad QA so it's a big lottery on whether you get a panel without major problems, plus fast IPS is apparently shit for movies/TV. IPS is what it is. IMHO, it's OLED or nothing. I'm not sure I would buy a 4k monitor with a 4070. That's a lot of pixels to push for a 4070. stepee
Why not just get a smaller size LGC3?
Nokra
Yeah I think it would be helpful to know your budget. Unless you're really against TVs as monitors for some reason (e.g. text clarity/sharpness concerns?) it really might be worth looking into e.g. an LG C3, especially now that the C4s are coming out and they're discounting the C3s. They make them as small as 42", I believe, and they're truly awesome for gaming.

I don't have the space to make that big of a display work as my computer monitor. Based on my current 27", a 32" is probably as big as I could reasonably go. Pretty much or wait until next year and see if they get less annoying. AS has a point about 1440p being a good match for your 4070 as well. On the performance question I'll eventually be hooking the 4070 Super up to a 4K TV as well though since my Panny plasma seems to be dying. You’ll be further away from the tv and dlss performance will be more than fine there. I’m using my laptop connected to the tv in my room now to push 4k and it’s similar to a 4070 super desktop and I’ve been quite pleased with the performance you get pushing 4k dlss. Frame gen also helps ofc.
