Keyser_Soze
Hidetaka Miyazaki 'knows for a fact' other FromSoftware devs want a Bloodborne PC port: 'If I say I want one, I'll get in trouble, but it's nothing I'm opposed to' | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Keep that hope alive, PC gamers. Quote "I know for a fact these guys want a Bloodborne PC port," Miyazaki said, referring to FromSoftware producer Yasuhiro Kitao and interpreter Bobby Simpson seated at the conference table near him. "If I say I want one, I'll get in trouble as well. But it's nothing I'm opposed to." I thought that would be the end of the topic, but Miyazaki went on to elaborate on his answer. "Obviously, as one of the creators of Bloodborne, my personal, pure honest opinion is I'd love more players to be able to enjoy it. Especially as a game that is now coming of age, one of those games of the past that gets lost on older hardware—I think any game like that, it'd be nice to have an opportunity for more players to be able to experience that and relive this relic of the past. So as far as I'm concerned, that's definitely not something I'd be opposed to." Normally this means no hope in this happening but check this out: Spoiler 100% guaranteed happening now!

Spawn_of_Apathy
It’s not like they couldn’t contract out the port. Somebody has done some math and assumes whatever they would spend porting the game will be too much to see any ROI to be worth it.

But would this port make back the cost? Would it be worth that studio’s time vs porting a newer high profile title?

So many people have been asking for this for so long that it's almost reaching Elden Ring levels of hype (except ER was being worked on). I don't know how much it costs to make a port, so I couldn't tell you. I'm sure it's not as much as doing a full game from the ground up which is probably the hang up, because it's Sony they probably want the game to look like the most beautiful game ever, but that's just a tangent. But yeah I think it would be worth someone's time to port.

Yeah, but they could make it look and run decent now :P A patch might make more sense, but an actual ps5 native version might be marketable to get eyes on it again there. I don’t know how Bloodborne works internally, I know that a bunch of the other games have the physics and other stuff work off of frames and upping the frame rate does weird stuff like break the jumping or have weapons degrade almost instantly. It performs as well as it’s going to on a PS5 without redoing the assets and possibly the underlying engine. That juice might be worth the squeeze to get a PC audience, but it’s going to have to be damn impressive to make up for the fact that you can frequently buy it for less than $10 new. Id imagine if they did need to adjust it because of the physics being tied to framerate, that work figuring that out would be done for the pc version anyway. Two birds one stone. Or be lazy and at least fix the frame pacing and up the res then. Just seems to make sense to do some update at the same time. I think the squeeze is worth it for the juice with this particular game. I mean, they remastered MedEvil, I bet a 4k/60 Bloodborne would be less work than that and sell around 10x.

That's exactly how Bloodborne works internally! People who played the game with an increased framerate on modded PS4s said that practically everything broke. stepee
Lbr by the time this happens if it does it would be a ps6 version anyway
Keyser_Soze
There is a mod to get it running at 60, Max played it But in order to play it you need a specific console without the firmware upgrade that blocks you from doing this.

Seems like a no brainer. maybe they are holding on to it until they can capitalize on the next big Fromsoft title announcement when everyone gets all hyped Sony swoops in and goes “how about Bloodborne with uncapped framerate or a 60fps cap?” And people will blow their loads at the screen.
