crispy4000
I arrow keyed through all 3 hours of the Best Indie Games showcase so you don't have to. Or may want to because tastes differ. Onto the games. Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus - Demo Ori & The Blind Forest + Okami + Hollow Knight Kingdoms of the Dump (trailer) Chrono Trigger with garbage cans. Suprisingly neat looking, and cool mode 7 overworld. Escape from Ever After - Demo July 19th Formerly known as Flynt Buckler. Paper Mario like that I just can't see enough of, need to try the demo when its out. Wild Bastards - Demo Spiritual successor to Void Bastards, by the same team. Ronin Rush Solid looking 2d action game, lots of air juggling goodness. Sands of Hope Open world gravity playground with puzzles and visuals like A Short Hike. Alzara If Disney made an indie JRPG Soul Quest (Trailer) - DEMO Stab stab stabbity stab stab-stab-stab stab stab Iron Meat - DEMO Looks like a Blazing Chrome sequel, but actually by a different dev. Ruffy and the Riverside (trailer) 3d platformer where you can collect and apply elements to different parts of the stage. Sacrifire (trailer) Shown before but has a good trailer update. Combat has action based dodging. Windswept (trailer) - DEMO Donkey Kong with a duck and a turtle. Looks surprisingly polished in motion. Beyond the Ice Palace 2 Slick looking Castlevania-like with chains. Sky Oceans Skies of Arcadia indie? Might have a long way to go or much less scope. Dark Deity 2 Fire Emblem GBA with animations just as good. First game is on my pixel art list to try. Anima (trailer) Anime character action indie game Akatori (trailer) - DEMO One she threw her pole to create platforms I was sold. Honorable mentions: Faeland - Reminds me of Prince of Persia a little, but those animations are awfully slow. Blud - Some kind of beat'em up with big finish animations? Reminds me of the Battletoad reboot. Quartet - Played the demo for their prior JRPG. This looks improved a bit visually, but has no hook? Overrider - Cool concept of a hoverboard combat game, but might not be the best executed Fallen Leaf - Very Shovel Knight looking, some characters look interesting. Paris Transylvania - Peggle + Slay the Spire. It's an original mash-up. Heart Abyss - Katana Zero like, seems decent. Moon Mystery - Mysterious looking FPS, but worried that the gameplay is too bog standard. Mullet Madjack - It's already out Toxic Avengers - You've seen this before.
crispy4000
The only one of these games that is close to 'new' rather than 'lesser known' is Beyond the Ice Palace 2. And I get it. Most indies needing to make a name for themselves in order to secure more funding and early publicity. The original Beyond the Ice Palace is actually a c64 game. I don't think they needed the IP at all. The new game looks good enough to be its own thing, for sure.

Having the 2 there just made me ask "there was a first one?"
