ort
Not that it really matters for crap, but I was hoping to see Vance’s attacks on walz military service come up. I feel like that would have been a softball layup for him to really push back on it and make Vance look like the mewling little dipshit he is. Spork3245
The “no fact checking during debates” thing is idiotic. Past debates had it with no push back. Romney famously got f’n owned in his second debate with Obama via a fact check. It was usually used during more egregious lies, not “the deficit went up by $6.8 million, not $7 million, senator”. There's no conversation with Trump. Even Vance is calling for a mass pogrom against “illegals” (read: black and brown folks and also anyone not sufficiently on board with maga) hastily created internment camps, and state violence in this country on a scale we haven’t seen since the Indian wars or before. They’re not trying to hide it! This is what mass deportation will be, this is what they’re calling for, top to bottom, there is no conversation to be had about this shit. Everything they’re calling for has a long history and tradition in this country and because it will be affected based on a persons alleged legal status and supposed lack of citizenship and not explicitly the color of their skin, I fear the courts would give them full reign to do whatever they want, especially since there is no known “list” of illegal immigrants. 2

Best
So I'm digging through this thread but according to the sources I've read, Vance gets the win here. Not that means anything at all really. In fact, it litteraly does nothing to this election lol.

Spork3245
Honestly, I'd say first half had Vance doing slightly better, second half had Walz slightly better; especially the Jan 6th/2020 Election question. Who "won" is very subjective.

Where are you getting the information that Vance came in as a joke? The right really supports him and he performs well in a situation like last night. Vance knew the assignment and probably spent the better part of the last month drilling it. Walz didn't do as well because he's in his element on the campaign trail and interacting with people. Vance is an empty husk of a man that wants power and can be filled with whatever is needed to go for that. Trump runs and people fret over the fact that he's a stupid dipshit, then he'll be the voice of reason. Trump becomes the GOP, then Vance becomes Trump's biggest acolyte. Vance goes on a douchey podcast and says dumb things because the hosts instigate. He prepped for the debate so he managed to look fine. Maybe next time he needs to do the thing where he pretends to be normal, his team will prep the restaurant or bakery ahead of time. If Trump loses and Vance survives the inevitable knife that Trump sticks in his back, then he'll be something completely different in a year or two.
