James Gunn's "The Suicide Squad" OT - update: new poster released, new trailer 26 March 2021

It's funny because the first Suicide Squad was re-edited to match his version of Guardians of The Galaxy so of COURSE WB would want him to do for their team what he did for the Guardians. WB/DC should basically cancel Suicide Squad and give gun another team of former villains that ban together The Secret Six.  You can even use a couple of members from the Squad on that team if you wanted to keep Deadshot and a few others.

WB trying to capitalize on Disney's massive screw up.

Massive? It was barely a mistake, if even a mistake at all. Guardians 3 will still be a hit regardless of who the director is. The only people that care are the 5%(generous) of the population who posts on message boards. And a large chunk of those, while mad he got fired, will still go see it. They distanced themselves from any potential scandal and won’t suffer any real losses in the process. But yeah, MASSIVE MISTAKE.

I think the concern is whether Guardians 3 will remain true to the intent and spirit of the characters and films James Gunn created, because that was what made them good movies. No one disputes that Guardians Vol. 3 will be a hit, the question is whether it will be good, and if it is, is it as good as something James Gunn would have given us (based on Guardians 1 and 2)?

That’s a shallow metric to measure whether it was a mistake or not. By that logic Disney could hire Michael Bay to direct Guardians 3 and it wouldn’t be a mistake because general audiences will see it anyways.
