The windows that the zombies bust through on a regular basis most definitely aren't bulletproof and you can't shoot through those, either!

DUDE. It is a nice precinct that has taken extra precaution, and zombies are actually super strong. They can use the full extent of their muscles and can exceed the limits of the human body.

So, they are bullet proof but not zombie proof.

Yes, bullet proof glass in a wood door, definitely.

You can't shoot thru those wooden doors either. They are very sturdy. Makes no sense for them to include a weak spot with the glass so the glass was bullet proof.

I'm more excited for this game than anything else this year.  I thought the demo was incredible, and seemed to perfectly balance the tone and tension of the early games with the action focus of the later entries.

I still need to try and beat the REmake that I have on PS4, but I keep getting stuck and not being able to solve the obtuse puzzles.  I've had to look at a guide a few times, and I now finally have the dog whistle, which at least feels like progress.  Reading through the early portion of the guide, there is so much stuff I missed; the game's design is equally engrossing and baffling to me.

Holy cow!  I was trying to contact you for weeks after the site rebooted!

I'm sorry!  I got rid of my Facebook account around the same time and sort of fell off of videogames for a while, so I wasn't around very much.  I appreciate the effort though!  I checked in around the holidays and was delighted to see the community active again.  I forgot how much D1P meant to me, even though I don't post a lot, so I resolved to make myself another account.

He's most likely asking to give you your old account back.

Are you saying that a zombie can exert more kinnetic force than both a 9mm handgun and a shotgun?

Other than you sucking how did you feel about it? :p

so so. I think it looks decent, but controls still feel clunky and what's with the tiny inventory. You're telling me on that jacket/belt of his he can't carry more than 6-8 things. Also didn't like the shoving the knife in the zombie and then having to retrieve it.

I'm sure I'll be getting it at some point, but it'll be down the road after a couple of price drops

RE4 - it a nice balance between action and scary. I tried to play RE7 but I was too scared to make it far. Just to get to the garage part, it took me 3 hours. I was literally too scared to move at times.

I hear you!  7 was indeed terrifying.  I need to go back and try it with VR, which I hear makes it unbearably scary.

Funny enough, I had a similar reaction when I initially played RE 4 on PS2.  During the first section with the chainsaw guy, I was boarded up inside a nearby house, didn't hear him, and out of nowhere he attacked and decapitated me.  It was the first time that I can remember that a video game gave me a visceral reaction.  I had to put the game down for a few days after that until I gained the courage to come back to it.

Can't decide between 4 and 7... but I'm starting to lean pretty strongly into 7. Been playing the series since the start, but while I enjoyed the older games, I never considered them really amazing or anything. 4 I played through many times, which is extraordinarily rare for me for any game of any genre (I just generally enjoy games far less after I've beaten them once, or rather I don't have the desire to play them again) -- but with 7 I played through it on Hard, and then on every other difficulty. Immediately. That's not only rare, I think that's the first and only time I've ever done that with any game, ever.

With RE4 I replayed it a bit later on, and even when I do replay games, it's usually on a harder difficulty, but it was fun seeing it every different way on RE7 and I enjoyed each playthrough for different reasons, and got really fast at beating it. It just completely enthralled me. The RE2 demo did the same for me, it's only a 30 minute demo but I spent at least 4-5 hours tinkering with it using CheatEngine to see every bit of content and experimenting with everything.

I was actually considering these facts the other day and while I don't think about "favorite games ever" too often outside of my default answer of Chrono Trigger since the first time I played it, I think that title might actually be Resident Evil 7 now, and that's amazing to me, because 6 was a huge steaming pile of shit, and not just because it "wasn't a Resident Evil game."

I do have to say, though, that that also got me thinking back on DmC, and I played through that on every single difficulty as well, including both one-hit death ones (Both where Dante dies in one hit but so do enemies, and where Dante dies in one hit but the enemies are normal) -- so that might be up there as well. Again, I'm a fan of the "real" DMC titles as well, but something about how smooth DmC played just made it a real joy in a way I never got from any other game in the series. Same with RE7, 4 was a massive evolution, but 7 just played so buttery smooth that it was just fun to fire the gun and see enemies react, which I hear a lot about Destiny (but never felt for myself) -- the same is true of the RE2 demo. The enemies can take a lot of punishment, but it controls so well and you blow off so much flesh it's just entertaining on its own.

I've replayed RE4 more than most other games in general, it's one of the most fun, engaging and exciting games out there to this day to me.

I got hooked on the The Mercenaries mini-game last year and ended up feverishly addicted to a game I've beaten like 10 times yet again. That's quality.
