I don't think weapon placements are swapped between scenarios, as in the Shotgun for Leon is in the same spot in both A and B scenarios. Puzzles have different solutions but are not in different spots, but one portable safe is in a different location. The one in the linen room is always there. The Dial Locks and Normal Safes have the same combination. Portable Safes are always random solutions no matter the scenario. Like, if you die after picking up a portable safe and didn't save, that same portable safe will have a different solution when you pick it up again. There are a few Mr. Raccoon's that are exclusive to each character, but there is 1 unique Mr. Raccoon in the B scenario, character doesn't matter. There is also a Mr. Raccoon when playing as Ada.

The B scenario also starts you later in the game so Marvin is already a zombie. There honestly isn't much difference in the scenarios aside from where you start. Kind of a bit of a bummer as that means the game is almost exactly the same as soon as you enter the station. I don't think there is any difference past the station. The only big differences come from character selection.

I honestly really fail to see the point to these A and B scenarios on paper. I'll still try it all because the game ultimately is pretty fucking killer but I'm confused why it's not just Leon and Claire scenario. If I played once and then the other, why bother with the remaining two if they're essentially the same thing again?

Well, they were more different back in the day, and it is possible A and B scenarios were never intended for REmake2 as the devs originally said they were not going to be in the game.

Edit: And I am pretty sure Leon and Claire just have their starting point swapped. Like, If you do Claire A, she will do everything Leon did in Leon A until the first boss. Which includes the interactions with Marvin.

I like how the original costumes are alternate costumes as a way as saying, no one in their right mind would wear what Claire is wearing in 2019. :p

I was tempted to go with that old school sheriff outfit for Leon already on my first Leon A playthrough. I've decided to leave that outfit + Classic OST for my second Leon run. Want to do Leon A and Claire B in their 'new' remake state first and then it's Classic OST and costume time.

According to the stats page more people discard herbs than wooden boards.

I've been reading that people discard shit a lot. This is total heresy and mind-blowing to me, I've literally never discarded anything I think in a Resi game, that's what the damn item box is for.

I don't even discard red checkmark items in this one, they go back in the box just in case Capcom pulled a fast one.

On my first hardcore run I discarded one item near the end, I think, because I wasn’t sure if I’d get another save before the final fight. Then I found a storage box seconds later :p

The only reasonable scenario to ever discard in lieu of just running like three rooms back and hitting an item box!

Holy shit.

I didn't discard anything except the main items with checkmarks. Wooden boards were great at keeping the flow of zombies in check. Herbs were great so I'd never run out of health.

STOP DISCARDING SHIT.

I never played the original.  So do Leon and Claire's stories play out very differently or is it more just a couple dialogue changes?  Like is it actually worth playing both of them beyond just pure enjoyment of the game?

The main difference is that you can play as Ada in Leon's campaign and as Sherry in Claire's. The final boss is also different for both.

I'm exactly the same way. If I have too many herbs then I just combine them. I have a bunch of RGB herbs.

I guess maybe the only reason for all the discarding is possibly for the achievement where you get an achievement for never using the item box. :p

I have to say that Claire B really sucks so far right off the heels of finishing Leon A. It's like they knew what would piss me off most about Leon A and preemptively made a whole scenario based on just that.

Edit: I take that back. I just had to bend to the game's will instead of the other way around and play on its terms. Started completely fresh on Claire B again the next day with a clear head and it's been way harder but very rewarding.

Finished Leon A and Claire B.  While Claire B was a little tougher I think it is also due to the fact that I don't like the weapons nearly as much.  The shotgun and the magnum are amazing and its tough not having them.

I've advanced far into Claire B by now and yeah, the lack of a shotgun feels really bad considering you rarely have enough handgun ammo to even take down like two or three zombies in a row. While I'm still thoroughly enjoying it, the game definitely has a tendency to veer off into thoroughly frustrating territory with its RNG bullshit combined with adaptive difficulty.

Set, limited amounts of ammo combined with both RNG and adaptive difficulty feels increasingly cheap and ridiculous as the difficulty ramps up and up.

I'm not sure if the grenade launcher is meant as a 1:1 substitute for the shotty? I guess so? It just seems like the ammo is even more precious and not to be blown on zombies. I've also nailed a zombie head-on with an Acid round and it didn't die, so there's that...

I haven't been frustrated in Claire B at all.

The machine gun has more than enough bullets.

The grenade launcher is ACE.

And you have multiple handguns to choose from.

So what you're saying is that the game's adaptive difficulty has been keeping shit simple for ya just so you can make fun of me on here?

:troll:

Let's not call that Quickdraw piece of utter shit a handgun, okay? Grenade Launcher is definitely cool as hell but I would've loved to have known prior to investing in them that Acid rounds don't even kill a zombie.

Quickdraw fires FAST, man. I was just kicking ass with it,

I finished both my Leon A and Claire B runs on hardcore with fucking oodles of ammo left over. The ammo scarcity is only an issue early on. So keep moving and stop trying to kill everything like an OCD motherfucker until you get the big guns, then lay those bitches out and cackle while doing it.

Also, I never learned in either playthrough that you could avoid Lickers by being quiet, so I had to murder each and every one (including that room with like 3 of them) with whatever I had on hand, so DON'T GIVE ME THAT SHIT ABOUT RNG.

Funny story, I found the Licker note in the demo, and kind of skimmed it cause I don't like spoiling that stuff, but when I found it in my real playthroughs I just skipped reading it entirely because I "already read it." I'm a genius.

Except I wasn't trying to murder every single one, I had no choice in the matter. :daydream: If you leave them and are constantly sprinting, you're dead. Unlike zombies, which you can juke so easily it almost seems a comical waste of time to kill them unless there's a hallway filled with them.
