Yeah, I'm not a purist like that. Granted, I learned to play RE with tank controls becsuse that was your only option back in the day, but I definitely prefer standard controls now!

Yeah, and I totally get that the game was built with tank controls in mind in terms of handling enemies and that the first area allows you to get used to tank controls since there see no enemies. I know it's harder to get away from enemies as that's how it's supposed to be. But I just can't. I tried and I can't.

No worries, as long as you enjoy it. That's all that matters.

@SaysWho? I would strongly recommend avoiding Revelations 1. I recently picked up both Revelations titles as a bundle and the first one was such a janky, bargain-bin turd, I dropped it after two hours. Revelations 2 however is a pretty damn fun Action TPS slightly veering into Survival territory here and there. Also, the bonus modes are fun as hell.

Playing this game has REALLY made me appreciate the modernization of the genre with The Evil Within, especially in the inclusion of crouch-walking to sneak by enemies.

Funny enough, I've been thinking of some of TEW's additions while playing as well. That makes a total of two of us on the planet probably and I think TEW1 in general brought a lot of cool ideas to the table.

I hope some people revisit it after REmake 2. Not likely but I feel like some criticisms leveled against it are in full force in REmake 2 and cited as positives.

I didn't enjoy the first Evil Within, but the second one is one of my favorite games from the past few years.

I am nearing the end of Leon's A scenario in RE 2, and I can confidently say that this is some of the most fun I've had in a game this generation.  I'm so excited to see what the plan is moving forward, and I'm completely on board with whatever direction they decide to go (continuing with remakes or progressing to 8 and beyond).

So, one thing that I saw brought up is the amount of times Leon and Claire interact. I noticed it a bit but didn't really think about it until the end.
Leon and Claire only interact with each other 4 times and I don't think they even have five minuted of screen time together.
There is twice basically right at the start.
The "prologue"  and after the helicopter crash.
There are two more and one is through a screen.
Those 4 times are the only times they speak to each other.

Maybe I could be missing one interaction, but it feels a bit lacking. At least it is like this on Leon A.

And boy do I hate that maps don't turn blue when you find everything in a room. I shouldn't have to pick up the items to get them to turn blue. Like once all the items are discovered(marked on your map) the map should turn blue. I just want to know that there isn't anything left in the room that I NEED.

So after finishing Leon A, the following will be available, right?

Leon B

Claire A

Claire B

I've read you're supposed to play Claire B after Leon A for the 'complete story'? So what exactly are Leon B and Claire A compared to their respective A/B counterparts? What is Leon B compared to Leon A for example?

When you beat Leon A you unlock Claire B. When you beat Claire A you unlock Leon B. Leon A and Claire A are the versions you have unlocked from the start of the game under the "New Game" option in the menus. The B scenarios are under the "2nd Run" option in the menus.

I believe canonically Claire A and Leon B is what is considered to be the correct path in terms of story. There are few minor differences when playing Leon A and Claire B. Nothing earth-shatteringly different though. And yes you need to complete both paths, to get the true ending.

In RE2(1998) Claire A and Leon B is the MOST canon campaign because of a plot point in RE6.

I'm gonna start Claire B today, but both 2nd run paths should get me the real ending, right?

Are puzzles shuffled around, weapons or anything? Would be helpful if this was explained in-game.

I just started with Leon because I thought it was Leon A Claire B as canon. I guess I will restart with Claire A which is good because Leon’s beginning outfit is horrible and makes that terrible swooshing sound.

He loses that getup pretty quickly.

I don't think weapon placements are swapped between scenarios, as in the Shotgun for Leon is in the same spot in both A and B scenarios. Puzzles have different solutions but are not in different spots, but one portable safe is in a different location. The one in the linen room is always there. The Dial Locks and Normal Safes have the same combination. Portable Safes are always random solutions no matter the scenario. Like, if you die after picking up a portable safe and didn't save, that same portable safe will have a different solution when you pick it up again. There are a few Mr. Raccoon's that are exclusive to each character, but there is 1 unique Mr. Raccoon in the B scenario, character doesn't matter. There is also a Mr. Raccoon when playing as Ada.

The B scenario also starts you later in the game so Marvin is already a zombie. There honestly isn't much difference in the scenarios aside from where you start. Kind of a bit of a bummer as that means the game is almost exactly the same as soon as you enter the station. I don't think there is any difference past the station. The only big differences come from character selection.

Unless there are story differences, I don't think there is a Canon route in RE2make. In RE2 Sherry only mentioned the G-virus crap in Claire A which was brought up in RE6 so that made it canon.
