With the new indexing system, do you guys still consider it necessary to keep those threads pinned in Entertainment?

Go take a look at what I just did. 3 threads --> 1 thread while still giving people a way to not have to go hunting for the threads if they drop off.

Double spacing between entries to make the links easier to hit on the first try if you're on mobile.

I'm fine with that, but I do want the thread creators to weigh-in.

I just thought it'd be more productive to just show what the alternative is instead of trying to get everyone to imagine what it'd look like.

It's necessary to keep them pinned because they aren't pinned because they are supposed to be a subforum they are pinned because they are the ongoing popular thread of the forum and pinning it makes it easy to find. Unpinning something like the listening to thread immediately makes it buried.

They can be easily found by clicking on the prefix :p

Also, look at @Jason's proposed solution

I'd rather click once than twice. A thread with links looks dumb.

EDIT: Constructive suggestion / question

Is it possible to make pinned threads have a collapsed view. Like if it was just a thread title, pinned, without the other information and like the row is half the width? If it was pinned like that I don't think the view would be too offensive.

is there a way to see if there is a new post in the 3 threads without actually going into them?

Not with that but the point is that this is for when they've dropped off the front page of Entertainment. But you can follow threads so that you get a notification when new replies are posted to them:

I don’t like combining them into one rate thread. I mostly just want to see stuff about movies and the occasional show.

It's not one thread combining everything. It just links to the other threads. You can follow those threads so you don't even have to go look to see if anyone's posted anything new.

Actually I changed my mind @Jason @SFLUFAN I think I don't like that single thread with the links. If I go to the threads from that page it takes me to the first post in the thread which will get tedious since you already have to click twice to get to it.

That being said I'm fine with at least my thread being unpinned and letting it come and go as it is posted in and forgotten and remembered.

Also I think TV shows and movies ratings can be combined into one. Just my opinion though.

Take a look now, I was able to make it so you can either go to the first post or the latest post.

The only thread I thought should be pinned was the reading one.  Like, if your post is more than just a number and a "I liked it" "I hated it" then make feel free to make a thread about it and discuss shit.

In theory I agree with this, but some specific entertainment things appeal to such a small subset of us/the population in general that I don't want to make a million threads about metal albums only Keyser, SimpleG, and myself are going to post in once. And a lot of the posts in any of the ratings threads are older things that won't attract much discussion and can overwhelm the page if posted into individual threads. I like having a few really active threads as opposed to a ton of barely breathing ones.

Better, but it still doesn't take me to the last post I read so I still have to go hunting.

Let me see what else is possible, that thread was definitely meant as a starting point to drive discussion not an end point.

For sure. I appreciate it.

It looks like getNewComment and getLastComment are different things and that I wanted the former but had the latter. I just updated it, I think that should now bring it up to where it was the last time you opened the thread.
