Pelosi to Cramer: There’s no need to reinvent health care — just improve Obamacare

Quote

Democrats should focus on making improvements to Obamacare instead of trying to reinvent the wheel with “Medicare for All,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Tuesday.

“God bless” 2020 Democratic presidential candidates putting forth Medicare for All proposals, Pelosi said in an interview with “Mad Money” host Jim Cramer. “But know what that entails.”

Pelosi and Schumer are stuck in the past. They have no clue what Americans actually want. Americans want real healthcare! Support it and you will earn votes. Play this middle of the road centrist horseshit and voters will stay home and Trump will win again. My fucking god they are dumb as hell.

They're the North Carolina Democrats letting a gerrymandered map through to protect their own powerless seats.

Along with Warren, Sanders, Gillibrand and Inslee, AOC and Justice Democrats endorsed Marie Newman over Dan Lipinski, a conservative Democrat in a safe blue district in Illinois.

This is a primary rematch from 2018, when Lipinski won by a little over 2000 votes.

A social conservative, Lipinski opposes gay marriage and is among the dwindling number of pro-life House Democrats. Lipinski — as many House Democrats — has not signed on to key elements of the agenda of the most left-of-center progressives, Medicare for All and the Green New Deal.

Ok so finally getting to read this article. What a load of bullshit.

However, policy analysts say actually implementing such a law would be tough even if a candidate such as Sanders won the presidency. Democrats would need to hold on to their edge in the House and win the Senate in the 2020 election to regain control of Congress. Then they would likely need 60 votes in the Senate and two-thirds of the House to overcome any potential filibusters. Republicans hold a 53-47 majority in the Senate.

Policy analysts=political analysts. How to get through the congress is a political question, nothing to do with policy in and of itself.

Second, they don't need 60 votes in the Senate if the fillibuster is eliminated or seriously reformed. And the 2/3 of the house thing? What? This is just bad reporting.

And finally: what the fuck does "make Obamacare better" even fucking mean?

Let's not forget this gem where moderates care more about reelection than standing up to the crimes of this administration. "But if he gets acquitted he will gloat on the campaign trail" from impeachment is no different whatsoever than not having an inquiry at all. Effectively what you're telling him, and all future president's, is that everything he's doing is fine. Then there's the very real possibility that the presidential candidate will have different messaging than the house, further throwing your majority into question.

Likely what Biden has been saying: expansion and public option. It really just needs full reform at this point imo, though.

I guess these retards don't see that still being on the hook for $X,000 after you pay your premiums is still not great politics considering, what, half? Of Americans can't really handle a $400 emergency.

Pelosi is a remnant of a long gone era of bipartisanship. She is completely blind to what the GOP has become over the past 10 years. She shows up with a smile and a handshake, meanwhile Kevin McCarthy is out back kicking your dog.
