They have at least two years to not worry at all, and I wouldn't doubt that pelosi knows and has a count of who would/would not support M4A at this point.

Things also change if the next Democratic nominee leans into M4A and wins. If a Democrat is the next President, I would expect a public option at the very least.

Tell me that "Wendell Primus" totally isn't the completely appropriate name for a guy that looks like that!

swamp creatures have the weirdest names.  It’s like everyone in DC has a name that would only be fitting for a middle manager who works for a comic book villain

A public option is useless because the supreme court would strike it down

And Republicans would undermine it to death the second they got into the House or Senate Majority.

Cleanest and easiest to sell option is take Medicare as is and reduce the age requirement to 0. Private Sector can still be in the Supplemental and Advantage business.

It's also not owned by the government.

But it is owed to society. Everyone in society owes society, and part of the social contract is that money and goods must continue to flow. If too much wealth is saved, that means it doesn't flow to other people, and then inequality rises further. If someone doesn't like owing society, then they should go live in a boat on the ocean. America is one of the few (prosperous) places that doesn't understand or comprehend that everyone is in this together, and that 99% of anyone's individual success is owed to what society has granted them and enabled for them.

Also taxation isn't theft. Theft is theft.
