unogueen
It's time for the airing of grievances. LA Noire: The devs of the GTA series made a game that let you skip the driving! Chime means clue? Investigations like rock-paper-scissors but your opponent goes first.
Commissar SFLUFAN
Hmmmm...this may take a while. I've played plenty of "mediocre/forgettable" but not too many that I'd consider to be outright awful.

XxEvil AshxX
If L.A. Noire is the worst game you've ever played, you've had a pretty good gaming life. But you're asking me to dig through almost 40 years of gaming history, and I'm pretty sure there were some experiences I've mentally blocked from my memory. Mr.Vic20
Gentle sirs, I sumbit to you for your review and comment, Virtual Hylide for Sega Saturn. Truly it stands apart among other, "crappy" games.

Bacon
Mass Effect Andromeda probably isn't that bad of a game, but starting it up right after the trilogy has me hating nearly everything about and the devs. It is unbelievable how the massacred the soul of ME. What a bunch of hacks.

crispy4000
I've played plenty of bad games through emulation for curiosity's sake, including a number in the Intellivision Lives! collection in the late 90's. It doesn't feel fair picking from those. I think the worst modern game I've played is Overruled, by the developers who went on to make the Battletoads reboot. It was such an offputting experience I was rooting for the latter to flop so these guys would switch careers.

gamer.tv
Of games that I’ve actually bought, Shaun White Snowboarding was pretty awful, Jason and the Argonauts was also pretty shocking. Both on the 360. I had Multi Racing Championship on the N64 and that was dull as dishwater.

Fizzzzle
The thing is, I don't think of the "worst game I've ever played" as actually the worst. If a game actively sucks, I'll stop playing it. The worse crime is even a game is juuuust good enough that I play through the whole thing only to hate myself at the end. True crime: streets of LA was a great example. I'd also say Just Cause 3. Mad Max is another one. I haven't played it, but I hear that Days Gone is cut of a similar cloth.

I'd vouch for Days Gone being good enough to finish and enjoy. The middle third of the game is where it hits its stride. The last zone still isn't bad, other than a mildly disappointing finale. It's the 2nd area of the game where things bog down a bit. Get over that hump and it improves.

I ended up with that turd when Children’s Palace was out of Super Mario 3 stock. I don’t think LJN ever published a “good” game.

LazyPiranha
I’m sure the actual worst video game I’ve ever played is some borderline non-functional Newgrounds horseshit from decades ago, but in terms of an actual commercially released product I paid for and genuinely hated? Also, I’m objective enough to know that it doesn’t actually qualify, but I fucking hated almost every moment I put into Fallout 4. The only game I ever finished out of pure spite. What a piece of shit.

Bjomesphat
Sure I've played some truly terrible games, but that doesn't seem like the spirit of the thread just to list the absolute worst in history. Ironically, the first thought that came to mind was LA Noire. It's the only AAA game I've bought day 1 and sold immediately after. Truly a terrible game. I'd also say Quest 64. Being an N64 only house I was desperate for JRPGs.
