Yeah the Forzathon events are pretty cool. I'm stil puzzling over the weekly event of trying to get a retro hatch to do 25 ultimate speed skills. I did enough of the events to earn myself 300 points and bought the special Forza Bently

Finally completed the weekly challenge but I bought the Sea of Thieves theme horn so I'm 20 credits away from the Bently

I'll have to wait for tomorrow's daily to get enough to get it before it's gone from the store.

How did you complete it? What did you use. Bought the Bently and after playing a bit today I have 260 FP in the bank

I used 2 cars. I used the 2001 Acura Integra Type R with a Tune I downloaded from the upgrade section that brought it up to 200+ mph to complete the Still A Scorcher challenge. Then a 1986 Ford Escort RS Turbo for the Package Performance and Sport Compact challenge. I could have used the Acura for them as well but I love driving the Escort but I couldn't get it to go past 200+ mph for the Scorcher challenge. It's fun driving different cars though.

I used the Escort for the Scorcher challenge...  Fully upgraded, adjusted the gearing, and managed to hit the required speed going through the tunnels...

I love the moment-to-moment gameplay in FH4 -- and I think I really like some of the things they've done.  The seasons will add a lot of variety to the races and events.  I like how Forzathon has become a lot more integrated.  I am LOVING my time in this game.

EXCEPT....  Every time I get a horn, or a pair of "mellon-print shoes" or pink stretch pants instead of a car in a wheel spin -- I am pissed.   I want a Ferrari, not f***ing stretch pants.  I really don't understand the avatar cosmetic items -- this is a DRIVING game, where you are looking at a CAR when you're playing.  And, WTF is with a $15 million castle?  I still don't even understand the benefit of buying extra houses.  Let alone one that you have to grind out for hundreds of hours.

I recognize that they want to turn this into a "games-as-a-service" -- but I don't think there is anything here that will keep me playing for hundreds of hours.  I want to play for my 70-80 hours, feel a sense of accomplishment by mostly clearing the map and move on.  To this end, I really wish that they hadn't moved the skill point spending from a "central pot" to being car specific.

/end rant

Agreed. Sure is it mildly funny that my driver is a guy in a chicken suit who is dancing? Sure, but they should have had the clothes and stuff purchasable in a shop somewhere on the game map or perhaps as 'findable' objects. There is simply way too much extraneous stuff to 'win', especially clothing.

Well... you can thank Fortnite for that.

That being said, I don't see anything wrong with avatar items. The game has been pushing toward a social aspect since FH2. I have only played the first few races so I haven't even gotten into any of that yet though so who knows, it might get on my nerves as well.

As for the $15 million castle, I'm okay with that too. I played every single event in FH3, and by the end I had so much fucking cash I didn't know what to do with it all, except for buying cars for no reason. That castle looks more like an end-game item than something you should run out and grind for as soon as possible. Not to mention if you hit up Forza Hub every so often they literally give you in-game cash for anything you've accomplished over the last 9 Forza games. Money really shouldn't be an issue for anyone.

Of course, my opinion on all this could change after 10 or 20 hours, but we'll see. I really liked the "Life" aspect of the Test Drive Unlimited games, it's just too bad the games themselves were shit. I'm excited to see what FH4 can do to build on an already rock solid foundation.

I think they did this to add to online races. You may not see your shoes most of the game but when you do co op or pvp races they put your Avatar on blast for everyone to see. When I was playing online I heard some one saying "Oh dude! You got legendary pants already!" It's just where we are at with online gaming. People want to show off their personalized canharacter just the same as they want to show off their car so I get why they did it. It's more things to collect for many. Also I love when I win an event and everyone sees my Avatar doing the running man :p

Ok,

I saw the dayonepatch club on xbox live and I'm following now. There was NO Day1Patch (in the game f4) forza club so I made one, it's open to the public and The / Our tag is D1P.

If this stepped on anyone's toes I apologize. I dont mind turning it over to someone who's better equipped to manage a club. If we dont want this one to be the official one. I'll move to the one we vote on, or relinquish control, or add people to manage the one I made.

It's just me in there guys. So what do we ALL want?

I followed the link it takes you to clubs in Xbox live. If I'm missing something then I'm sorry, but I didn't see where it was a Forza Horizon 4 Club? I searched and looked, I clicked follow, etc. It's no biggie to me at all. Didn't want the Club name and tag {D1P} to be used / gone. I'll gladly switch, and or hand over privileges etc. I'm no club leader / moderator type I can assure you!

So it's:

Club: Day1Patch

Tag: D1P

I haven't played a non-Mario racing game since Burnout: Paradise, and this game is fun as hell. Thank god MS is finally respecting the PC as a platform. I kind of wish I had an xbone controller for the feedback on the triggers, although even with a 360 controller the feel is still excellent.
