Week 1 is in the books and sees mikechorney taking the early lead!  It seems a lot of us had a little too much faith in the Falcons.  It wasn't pretty but your reigning Super Bowl champions managed to pull it out.

 

-= WEEK 1 RESULTS =-

Feature Game - Eagles win 18-12, beating the 3 points.  Bets on the Eagles pay out.

 

1) What will be the first scoring play of the Feature Game? Eagles TD, Eagles FG, Eagles safety, Falcons TD, Falcons FG, Falcons safety, or other? ($400 for the correct call)

The first score in this one was a 21 yard Matt Bryant field goal for the Falcons.

 

2) How many yards will Devonta Freeeman rush for against the Eagles this week? - Under 50, 51-99, 100-149, 150-199, or 200+ ($500 for the correct call)

A few players saw this pitiable performance coming.  Freeman rushed for only 36 yards before going out of the game with an injury. Guesses for under 50 take it.

 

3) How many penalties will be thrown in the feature game? ($600 for the correct call)

Week 1 saw a ton of flags thrown and this one was no exception.  26 penalties were assessed in the Feature Game.

 

4) Who will score the Saints' 1st touchdown this week? ($800 for the correct name, or "Nobody" if you believe that they will not score a TD this week. And by "score" I mean "the guy holding the ball in the end-zone". Only call the QB if you believe the first TD will be a rushing TD by him.)

Kamara scored the Saints' first touchdown on a 5 yard run in the first quarter.

 

5) Call the winners:
Jacksonville at New York Giants
Washington at Arizona
Seattle at Denver
($500 for EACH correct named game winner, $1000 bonus if you call all 3 correct)

 

Several players called 2/3, but nobody earned the bonus.

 

6) How many total points will be scored in the Monday Night game (L.A. Rams at Oakland)? 0-10, 11-24, 25-36, 37-45, or 46-55 or 55+ ($600 for the correct guess)

46 points were tallied in the Rams vs Raiders contest last night.  Guesses on 46-55 pay.

 

7) How many field goals of 50+ yards will be converted in Week 1? ($400 for the correct answer)

5 field goals of 50+ were booted this week.

 

8) Name the player who will rush for the most yards AND the player that will have the most receiving yards in week one. ($1,000 for each player named correctly, $5,000 bonus if both names are called)

James Conner takes the week 1 rushing crown with 135 yards while Jared Cook and Michael Thomas share the receiving title with 180 yards each. thewhyteboar was the only player to call one of these names (Thomas).

-= THE RULES =-

1. You make your bet and answer the questions simply by posting on the thread each week with your pick for the featured game along with your bet, followed by your answers to the prediction questions.

2. Everyone starts with $1,000. If a user doesn't start until week 3, they still start with $1,000. Your best bet it to get in early and play every week.

3. If you somehow reach $0 you are not out of the competition. You can't bet on the feature game during weeks that you are broke, but you can answer the prediction questions and hope to earn cash to gamble the following week.

4. IMPORTANT: I will set a deadline for getting your entries for the week in (usually before kick-off of that week's first game). It is imperative that you make your post before the deadline. The entry thread will be locked at the deadline so if you don't get your entry in by then you lose out on the chance to make money that week.

5. I work full time AND coach youth football AND go to school when I can AND have a near crippling gaming addiction AND probably drink too much. Responsibilities and personality flaws allowing, I will attempt to post the results and the next week's game/questions each Tuesday, as early as possible. Keep in mind though that there may be some wackiness here and there based on my schedule and hangovers. Pay attention.

6. For the official recording of stats/yardage NFL.com will be used. Whatever their site says on Tuesday morning is what counts.  No whining.

7. Accounts created within the current calendar month are not eligible to play and any entries from such accounts will not be considered.

## WEEK 2 MOCK GAMBLING - SPREAD AND QUESTIONS ##

 

DEADLINE FOR WEEK 2 ENTRIES - 9/13/2018 (Thursday) 08:19pm EASTERN

THREAD WILL BE LOCKED AT THE DEADLINE SO GET YOUR ENTRIES IN!

 

Week 2 Feature Game
New York Giants (+4) at Dallas Cowboys
(Remember you are betting against the spread, not just the outright winner)

 

QUESTIONS
1) What will be the first scoring play of the Feature Game? Giants TD, Giants FG, Giants safety, Cowboys TD, Cowboys FG, Cowboys safety, or other? ($500 for the correct call)

 

2) How many turnovers (combined) will occur in the Feature Game? 0-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, or 8+ ($600 for the correct call)

 

3) Mile High Kicking - How many total field goals (not PATs) will be made in the Oakland @ Denver game? ($700 for the correct call)

 

4) Name both the highest and lowest scoring teams in Week 2. ($700 for each correct team, +$600 if you name them both)

 

5) Call the winners:
Minnesota at Green Bay
Miami at NY Jets
New England at Jacksonville
($500 for EACH correctly named game winner, $1000 bonus if you call all 3 correct)

 

6) Name the quarterback that will have the highest number of pass attempts in Week 2.

 

7) Name the player that will score the first touchdown in the Texans @ Titans game?  Again; by "score" I mean "the guy holding the ball in the end-zone". Only call the QB if you believe the first TD will be a rushing TD by him.  Say, "nobody" if you believe there will be no TDs scored. ($800 for the correct answer)

 

8) Name the player who will rush for the most yards AND the player that will have the most receiving yards in week two. ($1,200 for each player named correctly, $5,000 bonus if both names are called)
