SaysWho?
Corning building new factory in response to broadband internet boom WWW.AXIOS.COM A new fiber optic factory will meet demand stoked by new infrastructure funding. Quote Corning said Tuesday it will build a new manufacturing facility outside Phoenix in response to a spike in demand for fiber-optic cable as the U.S. government ramps up a $42.5 billion internet funding program. Why it matters: Building high-speed internet service to connect all Americans won't happen without the right equipment — and, thanks to the infrastructure funding law's "Buy America" provisions, it will need to be largely U.S.-made. It's getting harder to say that for Arizona, though. State's been changing for a while.

State governor sucks but seems like the normal kind of suck. His possible Republican replacement is full of the batshit, but she's also not guaranteed to win. Still, either way, Arizona's been changing for the past two decades, at least. This is a state that trends more and more Democratic each decade, and something like this could also be a boon for Democrats for the simple fact that it's bringing jobs to Arizona.
