Multiple Victims of a Senseless Accident in Downtown L.A.

From some further reading: the intersection is at the bottom of a steep hill and generally fairly dangerous for cross traffic, lot of side impacts there on a weekly basis.

There are many other plausible explanations for what occurred besides an intentional act by the driver. May want to be slow to make assumptions about why this occurred when the investigation has only just begun.

This doesn't look that steep, at least steep enough to account for the speed in the video.

Certainly the accelerator was engaged, but you don’t need a particularly steep hill for such a thing to combine with a driver having a medical emergency of some sort to reach the obviously high speed. But again, the assumption that the driver must have intended to do this is based on nothing as far as I am aware. That is merely one of many plausible explanations.

Nicole L. Linton, identified by multiple law enforcement sources as a nurse from Texas, will be booked after she's released from a hospital where she's being treated for injuries she sustained in the wreck.

The arrest was also confirmed by members of Linton's family.

Public records in Texas show someone with the same name as a registered nurse with a current, valid license.

The high speed crash happened around 2 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Slauson and La Brea Avenues and was captured by a security camera at a gas station nearby.

I just want the investigators to figure out exactly WHY this woman, Nicole Linton, did this or how in the hell it happened. Looking on google maps street view, the "hill" that's there is barely much of anything, so attaining a rate of speed due to steep decline doesn't quite seem up to snuff to me.

Sounds like they are blaming this on mental issues

A nurse who was allegedly driving 90 mph when she ran a red light and slammed into traffic in Windsor Hills, killing six people, is being charged with murder, the DA said Monday.

During Monday's bail hearing, Linton's defense attorney claimed there was no evidence of drugs or alcohol in her system and alluded to "profound mental health issues" as a potential reason behind the crash.

A prosecutor said she had been involved in "a number of prior collisions throughout the United States" including a 2020 crash in which two vehicles were totaled and people were injured.
