Just in case you think things can't get any worse, the Supreme Court will soon have a ruling on the EPA's powers to regulate climate change.

Kennedy v. Bremerton School District still expected too.

It’s a case about prayer in school.

Ivanka Trump was seen as the most capable member of the Trump family. She's considered the most charismatic and admired among Trump's sons and daughters. Ver...

Granted, its not about abortion shaming as much as its a denial of a privilege you were afforded

I like the idea of rotating Justices.  Judges from the various circuit courts would sit on the Supreme court for a period of time.  The only permanent Justice would be the Chief Justice.  As far as how long a Judge would serve on the high court - 1 year.  And as far as they would be picked - randomly selected with the equivalent bingo machine.

All these supposed solutions, and we know damn well the Dems are going to attempt to implement exactly zero of them.

They will pass bilateral SCOTUS reform that will "strongly encourage" SCOTUS to self-regulate itself towards behaving better. Then they will sing God Bless America on the steps of Congress.

The anger polls very well but it never translates to destroying the mechanisms that allow such things.. it goes beyond presidential elections (when GOP wins the next one they wont be dislodged for a long while.. specially if a better Trump is found)…

The chipping away at the system has been so effective people dont know where to begin… voter suppression, districts, corruption.. the ticks are very well dug in.. it would literally take a draining of the swamp and honestly all politicians are so intermixed with one another that it wont happen because it might threaten the 2 party glass ceiling they desperately work to preserve

It's stupid because there is a solution right there in everyone's face. Statehood for DC and PR. That's 4 new senators. Just move some members of the House around to accommodate for them if we're so against expanding the House. Either that, or expand the House just enough to give DC and PR they're own reps.

It's the solution to the Dem's problem AND would remedy a ridiculous injustice that's gone unchecked for a century, plus. It's so obvious Democrats will never push for it.

Its as if the Dems would rather lose a billion times over as long as they can claim the high moral ground…

Im not sure how much worse it would get if the Dems started playing as dirty as the GOP, but the thing is the GOP base are already convinced that the Left is trying to destroy them so…

The problem is the party that dominates the court will never want to go for reform since it goes against their interest. There are a lot of ideas that would make the court better.

It also doesn’t help that the side that legitimately wants to see reform in a more small d democratic way gave up all leverage by refusing to expand the court.

hell I’d prefer reform written into the constitution but without the threat to power that falls on deaf ears on the right.

Getting an ob thrown in jail and probably losing their license is clearly a better option than them stopping their practice. /s

the U.S. has no problem throwing people in jail. What’s realistic is they will see women die or they’re going to move to an abortion legal state and care for women in criminalized states will have worst outcomes for women

Fucking of course they want a national ban, I don't understand why they're cowards about admitting this whole cloth. If your POV is that "life begins at conception," then carving out exceptions for rape and incest doesn't make sense. The only possible ones that might would be the kind of pregnancies that endanger the life of the mother, but I don't trust the party of "legitimate rape" and people who say aloud that women should regulate their intake of cum to appreciate any kind of biological nuance.
