I love TLoU but I hope this is complete flop because I don't want to see this becoming a trend. I think even Resident evil 4 which is much older still holds up pretty well and doesnt 'need' a remake but it's much more forgivable if they don't cut a bunch of stuff. I'm not a big "woah graphics" guy so yeah, this is baffling, pointless and fucking dumb as far as I'm concerned. What this game needed was expanded level design and combat with the sequel's mechanics as the stepping stone. Based on the footage I saw, the AI is still dumb as all hell with Ellie constantly running around in the open in the middle of stealthy combat sections, no expanded stealth options like the grass and prone in the sequel, and yeah, no dodge/expanded melee either. I'd love to be proven wrong but the footage was pretty clear on what we're getting. Not only is it baffling but the press release/marketing, whatever, used is misleading as hell. When you tell people the gameplay is modernized, expanded bla bla bla and they just played the sequel, which is leagues above the original mechanics-wise, why the hell wouldn't they expect that and more instead of a $70 facelift? What a wet fart. Edit: Also, what's with the "from the ground up PS5 experience" bullshit. I guess I am not surprised that the gameplay refinements from 2 is not in this remaster. $70 is a tall ask for a graphical upgrade. I’ll pick this up cheap like I did with the first remaster.
