Again, assuming this just means TLoU2's combat for the most part. Shit, I hope they added the grass stealth, prone move and all that other stuff fully and also opened up the level design a bit more. Definitely buying it if so.

Based on the trailer, this 100% just looks like TLoU recreated in TLoU 2.

Yeah, when they said that they were remaking it I was expecting a Resident Evil 2/3 type of remake, but this just looks like they switched the original graphics with The Last of Us Part II graphics. I’m admittedly less excited for it now knowing that it’s essentially going to be the same exact game just with better graphics. Of course I’ll still get it when I get a PS5 since it’s one of my favorite games, but I was hoping for a kind of reimagining of the original instead of just the original again with better graphics.

Like I said above, I do wonder if they'll expand and open up the way restrictive level design of the original. I feel like they kind of have to especially after the sequel and them seemingly wanting to tie it in directly with the whole "Part 1" aesthetic and all. But yeah, the original still is way "modern". I can't even think of some vast improvement beyond bring it up to speed with TLOU2.

The Last of Us Remastered Again.

Exactly. I'm not buying this game 3 times. It confuses the hell out of me that they felt the need to remake this. Other than for money of course but it's just lazy development and easy money for them.

Idk this doesn’t seem that crazy to me. The game is almost a decade old, and the ps4 remaster doesn’t affect my view on it reallt because it was pretty damn basic. More like what next gen patches are doing now except they charged for it, it doesn’t really affect how I view the timeliness of this.

If the story and design hold up then why not have a version of it that looks good in 2022 especially for people who didn’t get around to it 9 years ago.

I suppose this is a valid point. I just don't want this remake taking time away for their next game.

You’re right, I consider the PS4 remaster more of an improved port of the PS3 game. The remake is more of what I consider a remaster, and there’s nothing inherently wrong with that. I was just expecting a sort of reimagining or retelling of the original since it was being remade from the ground up for the PS5. It appears to be more of a remake like Demon’s Souls, and less of a remake like Final Fantasy VII.
