Dre801 Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 Almost every new game announcement these days is a UE5 game. Studios seem to be ditching their own engines for it. Quote
skillzdadirecta Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 So this will take place in the 20's, 30's? Quote

stepee Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 I love all the Mafia games. I don’t even even care if they fix the gameplay variety flaws of the whole series and it’s mostly pointless beyond atmosphere cities. Just give me that sweet sweet atmosphere, good tech, a great story, and at least functional gameplay and we are rollin. 1 Quote
stepee Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 Also Mafia has to be the most impressive remaster yet, it’s basically 1:1 with the ps2 era original yet looks stunning in 2022 still. I can’t wait to see how good their city looks on ue5. 1 Quote
Bacon Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 Not a fan of prequels but if the plot isn't really related to the other games then I won't mind. Quote

There are reoccuring characters in all three games and they take place innthe same universe, but they are independent of each other. There's DLC for the third game I still need to play. 1 1 Quote

I much prefer playing the original from 2002, yeah it's dated as all hell but the atmosphere and story are amazing still. 2 was amazing, 3 gets a lot of hate but I love it and lincoln is a great character to play, the dlc in the DE is pretty awesome too. I never played the original but I thought the story was still very good and didn’t notice much of an issue with the voice acting, didn’t stand out I guess but it was more than fine. But even if you don’t like those changes, you can just dive into the free roam mode as soon as you start the game and it’s worth it for the price it goes on sale for to just drive around the gorgeous city and soak it in. Dre801 Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 I started the remaster, lost the car race, put it down and played other games. I'm gonna go back to it. I was just irritated at the time. Quote
Paperclyp Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 I've always been curious about the series but never dipped in. I think I have 3 on PS4 (from +). Quote
CastlevaniaNut18 Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 I’ll be there for it. Played though all of them and have enjoyed them a fair bit. 1 Quote
Commissar SFLUFAN Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 If they really wanted to make things interesting, the prequel would be set both in the United States (1920s) and Sicily (late 1800s/early 1900s). 1 Quote

Commissar SFLUFAN Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 I have another idea! Maybe instead of or in addition to playing as a member of the Italian mafia, how about playing as a member of an Irish organized crime family? Quote

SoberChef Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Mafia Remastered had recently hit GamePass & I've been playing the fuck out of it as I hadn't when it originally released in like 2002. Granted the controls are wonky AF but the story really does just compel you to overlook that tedious fact & just enjoy the story. Have high hopes for this next one. 1 Quote
