Reputator
https://www.anandtech.com/show/13279/amd-to-fab-7nm-cpus-gpus-at-tsmc This is huge. GlobalFoundries is effectively out of the race now, which is a blow to AMD as they had used them for much of their manufacturing, and a blow to the chip manufacturing world where the competition is needed. cusideabelincoln
Well "Vega 2" and Zen 2 were designed with TSMC in mind from the beginning so there won't be a short-term impact of this decision on us, the consumer.
Massdriver
It could help AMD in a way. GF usually had a inferior process to TSMC, but they had a terrible agreeement that made it cost prohibitive to use them over GF. From a competitor perspective I agree, but AMD will probably be better off assuming TSMC has the capacity.
Mithan
This is good and bad. For AMD, it is probably a mix, because TSMC will produce their chips on time now, but probably at a higher cost. One assumes that GF will license off of Samsung again, hard to tell.
