I was led to believe 7 was the best game in the series for a long time, so when it came out on 3DS of course I’m gonna jump on it. I think DQ7 is a turd. I've been excited for it for the same reason he said he was in the Bombcast. It just has a real fucking clean look and sounds great. Just looking at the screenshots makes it look like a lot of love went into absolutely nailing the art style and general aesthetic. I keep wanting to like Dragon Quest games, and keep ALMOST liking them. I'm making my way through 8 on the 3DS at the moment, and it's fine, but it just feels... off, somehow.
