Keyser_Soze's streak is ended as Biggie takes the reigns going into the final week of the regular season!  For the first time in NFL and MGT history we now move into Week 18, and with the tightest leaderboard we've ever had this late in the game!  Almost every player is roughly within one bet of the lead and with the post-season still to go it's anyone's competition.

 

REMINDER: I'm saying this now because nearly every year we have a player or two that says, "Oh I thought this was over" after either betting it all because they thought there was no chance at taking the lead in the "final week" or failing to make an entry during Wild Card weekend.  This is your gentle reminder that this competition runs through the playoffs.  The MGT's final week is the Super Bowl!  We've got a close race this year so don't throw in the towel; Week 18 is NOT the finale.

 

########## WEEK 17 RESULTS ##########

 

Week 17 Feature Game - Cleveland Browns (-3.5) @ Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers keep their playoff hopes alive, winning by a score of 26-10.5(14-3.5).  Bets on Pittsburgh win.

 

QUESTIONS

1) What will be the first scoring play of the Feature Game? Browns TD, Browns FG, Browns safety, Steelers TD, Steelers FG, Steelers safety, or other? ($2,000 for the correct call)
After a scoreless first quarter, a redzone pass by Roethlisberger in the 2nd leads to a touchdown and the first points of the Feature Game.  Calls for a Steelers TD get it.  BasemntDweller2 was the only player to get this one.

 

2) Which quarterback will finish the Feature Game with a higher passer rating? ($1,200 for the correct name)
Roethlisberger finished with an abysmal 56.3 rating while finished with an even worse 53.1.  Bets on Roesthlisberger win.

 

3) Currently 8 teams have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention (Jacksonville, Detroit, NY Jets, Houston, New York Giants, Carolina, Chicago, and Seattle).  How many of these teams will WIN in Week 17? ($2,000 for the correct number)
Chicago and Seattle were the only two eliminated teams that won in Week 17.  2 is the call. BasemntDweller2, ManUtdRedDevils and Slug were the only players to get this one right.

 

4) Which team scores first: Houston or San Francisco? ($1,200 a correct guess)
Houston scores first on a 2nd quarter TD pass for what would be their only points on the day.
 

5) Call the winners:
Miami at Tennessee
L.A. Rams at Baltimore
Philadelphia at Washington
($1,500 for EACH correct named game winner, $3,000 bonus if you call all 3 correctly)
Easy week as several players called all three games correctly for the bonus.
 
6) A no good very bad week: Name a QB that will throw 3 or more interceptions in Week 17 ($3,000 for a correct name)
Three quarterbacks (Tim Boyle, Trevor Lawrence, and Josh Allen) each threw 3 picks.  If you named one you got it.

 

7) Kansas City @ Cincinnati - Which team will have the most combined rushing yards? ($1,200 for the right call)
The Chiefs laid down 155 combined rushing yards to the Bengals' 60.  Bets on KC win.

 

8) Name the player who will rush for the most yards AND the player that will have the most receiving yards in week seventeen. ($4,000 for each player named correctly, $8,000 bonus if both names are called)
In a week that saw eight different 100 yard rushers, Najee Harries comes out on top with 188 yards on Monday night, while Ja'Marr Chase pulled down a ridiculous 266 yards through the air to lead all receivers in Week 17. Biggie was the only player to call Harris.  Nobody called Chase so no bonus awarded.

(Remember you are betting against the spread, not just the outright winner)

3) There are 2 playoff spots remaining in the AFC.  Of the 5 teams that are still in the hunt (Colts, Chargers, Raiders, Steelers, Ravens) name the two teams that will claim these spots. ($1,500 for EACH correct team)
 

4) There is 1 playoff spot remaining in the NFC.  Of the 2 teams still in the hunt (49'ers, Saints) name the team that will claim this final spot. ($1,500 for the correct team)

 

5) Call the winners:

Chicago at Minnesota
New Orleans at Atlanta
($1,500 for EACH correct named game winner, $3,000 bonus if you call all 3 correctly)
