CitizenVectron
Look, at some point in the next few years we are going to get a SCOTUS shadow docket decision overturning some law and there will be absolutely no reason given, it will just be "this law is not allowed, final decision." And there will be nothing anyone can or will do about it.

CitizenVectron
SCOTUS gonna rule in Nov 2024 that Trump is the winner of the election, 5-4, even after Biden wins the EC and popular vote. And Trump's not even on the ballot, it was Biden vs DeSantis. They'll do it without an opinion, too. Then what are people going to do? This is a true story that I remember vividly: Quote In 2016, the school was offered $30 million to rename itself for Antonin Scalia, the late United States Supreme Court justice. The Charles Koch Foundationprovided $10 million of the donation, and the remaining $20 million came from an anonymous donor.[19] On March 31, its Board of Visitors approved the deal. School officials soon announced that the new name would be "The Antonin Scalia School of Law", but changed their minds after observers noted that this could be abbreviated "ASSLaw". Several days later, school officials announced a new new name: Antonin Scalia Law School,[20]

Kal-El814
Campaign finance reform and having sitting members of congress have to put finances in a blind trust would solve a lot of issues, but the grift is a non trivial part of the appeal so we will continue to not have nice things. It’s not like politicians wouldn’t be able to line their pockets if that happened, there’d just be a couple fewer approaches.

Guest
Proving IAC based on post-con counsel not presenting evidence without being able to present the evidence in federal court is pretty near impossible. The only other way you could show IAC is with in-trial stuff, where your lawyer made some obvious error that shows in the transcript. Otherwise what you end up with is courts saying “there are strategic reasons for defense counsel not to raise that evidence” and it’s over. CitizenVectron
Clarence and Ginni Thomas Are Telling Us Exactly How the 2024 Coup Will Go Down SLATE.COM If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Quote Ginni Thomas sent emails to Arizona elections officials asking them to set aside the will of the voters and submita slate of fake electors who would support Donald Trump, even after he demonstrably lost the 2020 presidential election. Quote the other way to look at the texts and emails that were pinging around the highest echelons of power and influence in the weeks after November 2020 is as a warning and road map for what is already being put into place for the next presidential contest. Quote The symmetry between Ginni and Clarence Thomas' work has never been more obvious. While Clarence fought to give state legislatures the constitutional authority to reject election results, Ginni lobbied state legislators to do exactly that. A casual observer might assume they were working in tandem, with Clarence handling the law and Ginni working on the political side.
