Commissar SFLUFAN Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 Once again, this is a clear illustration of why a "common law" based system is an absolute farce when compared to "codified law" based system. 1 Quote

Air_Delivery Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 I think conservative states underestimate the impact this will have on them in terms of businesses moving to their state. For instance they are going to have a hard time convincing liberal tech workers to move from California to Texas I know I will never live in a conservative state ever, not only because of this law but because future rights potentially being reversed. With the current composition of the SC, they're going to continue winning for years to come. In 3 years, when Trump wins a 2nd term, you'll have Thomas retire and Breyer leave the court as well. The court will go like 7-2 full conservative, that plus the redistricting they get to do because they own Statehouse majorities means they get the whole damn ballgame. I've never been happier to live in California and I say this after just having opened up an email about homes for sale that showed me an $700k home in a not so desirable neighborhood. yeah i have no plans to leave california until we have no more water Quote
CastlevaniaNut18 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 I still can't imagine living in a place like California. I don't really wanna give up my lifestyle with the ridiculous cost of living there. I can at least take comfort in knowing if I ever needed abortion access, I could afford to travel there to get it done. 1 Quote

Kal-El814 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Places like California and Massachusetts are at risk too, people. Neither are strangers to Republican governors (yes, I am aware that a "Massachusetts republican" is not the same as a "normal" one, but still), there's a ton of old money and tech money in each. Wind turbine projects on Cape Cod have died because they'd be in the eye line of 10 rich people. It doesn't take much for that to spread that shit to other areas. 2 Quote
