Minivans are nicer

Lately I've been looking at Ford's offering. It's clearly a retrofitted work/utility van (e.g. it's fugly) but it seems fully loaded and affordably priced. I had an ecosport loaner for a bit with the new Sync touch screen that was really great.

You made me look up what that ...thing... Looks like and it is fugly

ew wait so is the idea you lie on that floor together?

No those are like individual spots you would probably rinse off there, there's a shower on top of the mirror, before you get in the bath. They have stools you sit at in those spots.

Just realized that because I can't find the gift my daughter won't stop fucking taking about (at retail price, as I'm not paying 4x for a plastic goddamn doll house from a reseller) imagine me trying to explain to a crying five year old about global supply chains on Christmas morning and you get an idea of where my head is this morning

What is the gift ? Maybe the board can help ?

It's a Gabby's doll house, based on the Netflix show. This thing retails for like $60 which is all it's worth, and all I'd pay*. $225 or so? Get fucking real that's stupid.

It's literally all she talks about. This morning she said completely unprompted "Gabby's dollhouse is my dream house". We've got all the grandparents looking for it and told them not to buy at that price.

*I've been expressly forbidden from paying that much above retail.

You can stand as tall as you want but you know at the end of the day someone (even you) is going to cave. No shame in the game. Back in the day my mom spent like $300 over MSRP on a launch PS2 for Christmas (I was there when she found it); I was expressly told not to mention that fact to anyone else in the family.

Look if it were my call I'd already have it it's just a matter of convincing the wife to just give in and make the girl happy for like one last Christmas. She's already asked me several times if I am Santa so I fear it won't make it another year if "Santa" didn't come through here

With a price like that I'm sure if a trustworthy board member found one they will sell it to you and not put it up for the super high price on the internets.

I'd be eternally grateful but unless you're going out of your way to find it I double anyone would stumble upon it lol

If you pay $60, Santa did a great job. If you pay $120+, Santa ain’t real kiddo. Daddy bought that for you. Mommy said no but I did it because I love you more than she does. Never forget it.

Your kid has a nicer PC than most of D1P.

I guess I should clarify, I don’t buy Christmas gifts for the kids!

Getting married next year, fiancé and I are not exchanging Christmas gifts this year especially since we are going to be hosting two Christmas parties/dinners, feeding 50+ people fancy food is going to be eye watering.
