Being a strong, independent person and I’ve gone to a show solo…

I enjoy movies more when I go alone than with friends. Now there were some shit movies I saw with friends and that made the movies better. Like the die hard with the son. Move was shit but I saw it in a group so it wasn't nearly as bad.

I do most things alone. Movies, theater, concerts (although I’m not much of a concert guy). The one that still makes me feel a little awkward is eating in restaurants alone.

One of my best ever meals was when, through an accident, my then girlfriend, now wife, booked me an extra day in Amsterdam after all my friends went home. I went to the highest rated (not posh) restaurant in my area, ate at the bar and spent my time chatting to the guys working. Normally, that would be my nightmare, but they were lovely.

I’ve been to many concerts by myself. It’s cool!

I have gone to restaurants by myself many times. I enjoy it.

I just can’t get on board with going to a theatre alone though. I tried it once and got up and left 20 minutes into the movie due to the shame.

I'm the complete opposite. I've gone to movies in pitch dark theaters sitting next to strangers giving no fucks.

Eating at a restaurant or going to a concert alone. I'm too shy for that I think. It's not for me. But for 35 yrs I've always had someone to my side to do things. I am only now learning how to live alone. :/
