Our first announcement is that the game will now launch in 2019. The most important reason for this is to raise the quality level, especially after all the very valuable feedback from the Beta Backer Demo.

The second announcement is that the game will no longer launch on PlayStation Vita. This decision is largely due to Sony’s plans to discontinue the Vita console, ending production of physical copies and stopping certain online store support features.

It is extremely unfortunate, but as a result, we won’t be releasing the game on Vita. For the backers who have ordered the PS Vita version of the game, you will be able to choose another platform or request a refund.

This process should be expected through an email that will be sent by Fangamer. It may be troublesome, but please be sure to respond and make the changes. [Note: Vita backers will be receiving an e-mail with additional instructions soon. Vita backers who would like to change platforms can do so now on their survey pages. Vita backers who backed at an unlimited tier and can receive a refund over PayPal can submit a request before 9/20/18 to initiate a manual refund of the affected games.]

I switched my copy from Vita to Switch a while back. Sad Vita not getting a version but whatever it is 2018 and the game will be a 2019 game. I hope the extra time allows them to ploish it more. I just want a good game in the end and maybe one not to look super dated out of the gate but it is a throwback anyway.

While i didn't really have a problem with the way it looked before, i like the improvement.

I was okay with a mid-tier, crowdfunded, small production project looking like a mid-tier, crowdfunded, small production project. Fortunately, it looks like he had the opportunity to take a step back and re-think the aesthetics and probably bring in some extra artists.

Also he probably saw what happened with Mighty No. 9.

This was the first thing I backed on Kickstarter. I haven't minded the delays at all. I just want a great game. I should be getting the digital copy on Switch and physical on PS4. I bought all three physical copies on the 8-bit style prequel Curse of the Moon. That game has a vita version. I am thinking I might pickup a physical Switch copy from Best Buy after I play the game. This is the closest Castlevania game we are going to get so I'm all in.

Anyone see the PSN Store trailer? It consists of a slew of tweets bashing the game and then shows improvements with "CRAP/NOT CRAP" comparisons.

Interesting.

Enjoying it. Feels a lot like modern castlevania with some extra twists.

the soundtrack is good, voice acting is mostly good but the painful shard absorption scream is a bit not good.

Graphics are pretty good with the exception of when it zooms to the characters in dialogue scenes or the menu, there is some ugly dithering and aliasing. Hopefully they patch it.

It's nice that equipment changes show up on your character.
