This is pretty awesome.  It's heartening to know that people are still keeping these old systems alive.  I have an old GBA, but its screen is not lit, which I totally forgot was even a thing.  Might have to upgrade at some point, but I also don't have many games to play.

I booted up my GBASP for the first time in about 8 years, and luckily the battery was still holding a charge well enough. I played through the entirety of Metroid Fusion while only charging it I think once or twice.

 

I haven't done a scientific analysis on the battery life, but it's probably about 5-7hours. I noticed a couple times though the battery light was red, even though I had just charged it, or it was only on for about an hour. I bought my SP brand new when it came out, so for the battery to still hold a charge for nearly two decades is quite nice.

 

Since I plan on keeping my GBASP, this could be a worthy upgrade. I also could consider an IPS-Panel upgrade if I really wanted to.

I bought some kind of replacement maybe 5-6 years ago. I barely ever play it, so it still gets the job done.
