Here's one I wish wasn't forgotten and instead got a kickass reboot. This game was so cool but clearly ahead of its technical limitation times. It had John Woo shit in it like if you blasted someone with a shotgun next to a window they could actually fly through the window. Also, it had a taser that would set dudes on fire if you held it long enough. Game was way ahead of its time.

Why this series hasn't been rebooted/updated is truly beyond me. Even the PSP games were awesome.

Summoner for PS2 came to mind.

Zone of the Enders 1-2 for that matter but they are certainly more popular.

I feel like the Xenosaga games are kind of forgotten RPGs.

Croc Legend of the Gobbos maybe was never known to begin with but I thought that was a delightful platformer in its day.

Syphon Filter AAA Sony first party reboot not having happened is criminal. It should have already happened, and the fact it hasn't makes no sense.

#NeverForgotten

I loved this shit more than Mario Cart at the time.

Beetle Adventure Racing's physics code was legendary, right? I feel like I have the physics in that game memorized.

If they brought Syphon Filter back they better change the controls. I went back to play the game recently and it was rough to control (among other things)

The same people who made it are now Bend Studio

I point out the Game Boy version of Battletoads specifically since it's actually a unique version of the game made just for that platform. I have a few more games in mind but I'll leave these here for now and maybe post more later.

SHADOW OF ROME

A TV channel that I stole my username from used to have a video game show and this and Mr Mosquito seemed to feature frequently.

Star Fox Adventures 2002. Zelda clone that looked absolutely beautiful at the time on the GameCube.

Some games are better left forgotten. :p

I just remember it looking really good at the time and tried to play like a Zelda game. I'm sure the game is an embarrassment now.

It always was IMO.  As you said, great looking at the time.  But if suffered from a world design that made you backtrack to and fro across a single path to continue on.  Hitting the same levers and switches to open gates along the way.

Thank goodness it wasn’t longer.  I’m surprised Rare designed a game like this.

A recent one, just saw this one on a PSN sale and...

The Pathless

A recent 'amazing Indie game' of the week, came out and I've never heard of it again even online really. There was quite a bit of hype pre-release.

I'd say Eternal Poison is another one, but I guess you can't really say people forgot about it if no one knew about it to begin with. It's a tactics RPG that came out at the end of the PS2's life cycle and didn't get very good reviews. I think it's pretty good, though.

I don't know if these actually count as forgotten, more just like not talked about much.

Metal Arms: Glitch in the System

Midtown Madness (specifically 3 for me)

Marathon

Myth

Dino Crisis

Phantasmagoria

Brute Force (Halo killer lol)

Skate or Die

Paperboy

Thinking about old PS2-era JRPGs, I can't be the only one that likes Shadow Hearts, right? I really liked their battle engine. I think the devs that made them went under, though. They cranked out like three or four of those in a pretty short span of time.

The first one was a little rough around the edges, but the second one was a classic. The third one might have been made by a different dev,I can't remember. It was alright.

(By the way I own all three and I'm going to be selling all of my games soon:sun:)

Dunno how forgotten it is but I loved this years ago. I fucking played thru this game with a guy I met on XBL while playing Halo. I know Crystal Chronicles received a remake, but I don't think this one did. I don't want it to either. Would I would like to see is a more adultier CC game. Looking at videos for it now, it is a bit way too much of a kiddie game. They should Ys it up.
