I think this is true too. I’m curious if it is primarily contractural obligations? I dunno, seems like an easy pro consumer fix to be made that has effectively zero impact on the bottom line.

It might be?  That's what I would assume if it was the norm.

 

My assumption is Sony wrote the contracts out that way because they wanted to, not because developers insisted.

I would guess most gamers are more like me than those who continue to play their old games on their old consoles.


I’m sure generally there are more people like you than not, but that is not a good reason for this to be happening.
