They're making a movie called Cocaine Bear and it's not gay porn.

I think Charlie’s issues are almost 100% the script. Just not good enough. But also, it’s not like a second time *female* director can be too picky when given the chance to direct a feature in Hollywood.

Well, given she wrote the screenplay that isn't a point in her favor but I also think that was probably a difficult movie for her to make good given producer/studio-type stuff, especially with a female director.

She didn’t write an original script, she rewrote something that the studio had previously optioned. Honestly, probably worse than if she had just written something fresh! Frankenscripts are rarely the basis of good movies. Good script doctors are amongst the most rare talents in the business.

Definitely true but she is solely credited as the screenwriter (from a "story by" two other guys, which is what you're probably referencing) so she probably should have started fresh but when you are the sole credited screenwriter and director you are responsible for a lot of what we see on screen I'd say. Everyone gets at least one mulligan though either way.

An African serval cat that was found with cocaine in its system after an escape at a traffic stop now calls the Cincinnati Zoo home, much to the delight of social media users still...

I'm guessing the driver gave his cocaine stash to wild cat when he was getting pulled over?

Totally rational choice. Taking a chance at a cop holding you inside a car with a cat hopped up on cocaine to protect the public from it getting out when you open the door.

Reap, meet Sow.

I didn’t read the article though, just daydreaming about the worst case situation.

It was mostly a fun time. Surprisingly, I think I was too hyped for this. The unique cast was a lot of fun. A lot of people that you wouldn't expect to see in this type of movie, but It also felt like things dragged on a bit. If Keri Russel and the kids weren't in this, I don't think it would've hurt the film.

Loved the chaos of the ranger station/ambulance scenes, though.

With the success of Cocaine Bear in the theaters earlier this year, it was only a matter of time before other animals fell victim to narcotics and B-movie excess. A cocaine shark is the logical next step. After all, sharks have an ocean of B-movies to their name — from Sharknado to Shark Exorcist. And […]
