Battlefield Hazard Zone is a high stakes survival experience where squads are deployed deep behind enemy lines to extract high-value Data Drives.

Quote

Squads that successfully capture Data Drives and extract will be rewarded with DMC as well as a bonus dealt out to members based on their actions taken during the match, such as kills. The more Data Drives you extract, the higher the reward for your squad will be.

The more Data Drives you gather in a match of Hazard Zone, the more XP you gain for your overall level and Battlepass and the more DMC you collect to spend on equipment and upgrades during a future match.

If you're on a hot streak and your Specialist extracts consecutively enough, you'll earn an Extraction Streak marker tied to the chosen Specialist that will reduce the cost of weapons, equipment, and tactical items for that Specialist while you continue playing with them. However, if you fail to extract, that marker and all its benefits disappear until you earn another streak, so don't get cocky, No-Pat. It's a long fall.

That helicopter gameplay looked like a pretty low framerate.

PC Gamer pointed that out in its article about the video:

Impressions/Reviews In Progress:

The next entry in the thrilling multiplayer series releases next week. Read our first impressions.

Unfortunately, Battlefield 2042 currently lacks a layer of polish in its pre-launch state. Don’t worry; there’s nothing as serious as Battlefield 4’s launch woes. Most bugs I’ve encountered are minimal, like the grappling hook’s zipline clipping through the front of the device during its animation or struggling to call in air support on an arid map like Hourglass because of a bug with the sand’s navmesh. Others can have a detrimental effect on gameplay, like sniper scopes losing their magnification after interacting with secondary gadgets or not being able to revive downed teammates in Hazard Zone.

While I’ve spent the last three days playing Battlefield 2042 at a virtual review event, I still need more time with the game on post-release servers before offering my final verdict. Additionally, I’d like to dive deeper into Portal, the game’s community-driven platform that promises unforgettable battles that highlight features from Battlefield games past and present. Given the breadth of exciting content to play, including Portal’s six classic maps like Battlefield 3’s Caspian Border and 1942’s Battle of the Bulge, this entry is an easy recommendation for fans of the series. If you’re on the fence about purchasing Battlefield 2042 at launch, you can look forward to my full review in the coming days.

And regular old Conquest is still a delightful mess, give or take a few undelightful crashes.

Another bit of good news: The review event version wasn't as buggy or afflicted by latency issues as the beta. I experienced a few crashes and unexplained framerate drops, but players didn't fall through concrete or run around with open parachutes. I can't say precisely what the launch will be like, but that's at least a positive sign.

The list of graphics options is substantial, too. If you want to make granular changes to hit your minimum acceptable framerate, you can tweak things like 'undergrowth quality' and turn off individual post-processing effects. There are a few DLSS options to choose from. I had mostly good performance at 1440p with an RTX 2070 Super, the 'High' graphics preset, and DLSS on 'Balanced.' There were a few framerate plummets, but they were clearly anomalies, not because my GPU was overworked—hopefully that sort of thing will be fixed.

I'm hoping for the best on Friday, but I expect the usual ream of tech support threads to appear in the first week, and probably a notable exploit or two, or a weird balance issue. It's what we've learned to expect with every big multiplayer game launch, and Battlefield games in particular tend to get thorough and unforgiving technical inspections from sophisticated FPS players. I'll likely spend a lot of my time in Portal, though, where 'weird balance issues' are the whole idea, so maybe the bugs will just blend in?

Albeit with a few glaring problems

In terms of staging epic fights between huge teams in sprawling environments, Battlefield 2042 comes close to some of the series’ highest watermarks — a feat few of the recent entries and even fewer other franchises can boast. The fights are thrilling, with dozens of players firing at once, and dozens of tiny skirmishes that bleed into one another. It’s chaotic and dazzling in a way few other shooters can be.

It doesn’t hurt that the game is absolutely gorgeous. There is a smattering of random weather effects like rainstorms, sandstorms, and even tornadoes, which all add to the visual chaos of firefights. The effects can occasionally be a bit disorienting, but it’s always enjoyable since players remain pretty easy to spot — thanks to some clever visual tricks, like cutting out flashy particles and clearing away non-essential shrubbery.

One unfortunate side effect of Battlefield 2042’s massive maps, which feel much larger than their counterparts from earlier games, is that they can take a little too long to cross on foot. There were a few matches of Conquest, particularly on the desert map Hourglass, which left me feeling like I was playing a battle royale game, following distant bursts of gunfire and far-off players, only to find that the action had moved elsewhere by the time I arrived. A certain amount of downtime can do wonders for the pacing of a Battlefield match, but here it often veered into outright boredom.

We got hands-on with Battlefield 2042 over three brief play sessions, and we reckon it's a decent time for FPS fans, but Portal will be the real standout here.

But from my brief samples of everything Battlefield 2042 has to offer, I’ve come away with a good feeling. My gut tells me that this is a solid shooter with modes that’ll appeal to plenty of FPS fans. But, despite its comparatively poor showing in the hands-on, it’s Portal that I believe has the potential to be something truly special. Check back later for my full review, which will be with the benefit of play free from EA’s vice grip.

It's faintly damning that by far the best part of this Battlefield package are some exacting remakes of games that are over 10 years old, while elsewhere the series seems caught in the same muddle it's been for a while. But maybe it's best to look past the lumpier parts of the package and focus on what really works, because if you know where to look Battlefield's special lure is still there, better and brighter than it's been for a while, the sandbox enabling carnage on a bigger, broader scale than before. EA and DICE seem to continuously struggle with what to do with Battlefield's brilliant toolkit, but at least they've been smart enough to hand those toys over to the players so they can craft their own fun.

Mightyy's FPS Aim Trainer takes Aim Training to the next level. All new features you didn't even know you wanted from aim training, including replay system, advanced statistics and a wealth of customization designed to rival other aim trainers on the market.

Thanks but its the keyboard that fucks with me. My fingers on my left hand are just hunks of dead meat that refuse to listen and on top of that I when I am under pressure i lose finger positioning over the keys.

I bought this thinking it might help https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Orbweaver-Chroma-Progammable-Adjustable/dp/B013P0HW7K

but i get so frustrated i end up quiting.

Yeah that would be more confusing to me. :p

I think the best way to get acclimated it just familiarize yourself with normal games first, like a campaign, and you should be used to using the keyboard by the time you hop into multiplayer.

Also, don't be afraid to change up the keybinds. I knew a guy who used the number pad for movement and the surrounding buttons. It actually makes a lot of sense. And sometimes it helps tying some actions (like melee) to the mouse.
