They should be, but Godzilla has changed so much over the years I think the better answer is that it's best not to think too hard about it. Godzilla went from regular dinosaur that was accidentally hit, scarred, and given super powers by a US nuclear bomb to Godzilla has always been, sleeping at the bottom of the ocean, feeding on the Earth's natural radiation.

I think nowadays, Godzilla is absorbing radiation so she shouldn't be exuding it. Her atomic breath should totally leave a deadly amount of radiation behind, though.

She? When did we confirm Godizlla was female  anywho...

SUNDAY UPDATE, Refresh for latest…: Warner Bros/Legendary’s Godzilla Vs Kong has set a new benchmark for the biggest international box office debut by a Hollywood film during the pandemic era…

Just checked... Godzilla is almost always referred to as "it" or as "male". Even the 1998 American Godzilla that was laying eggs all over the place was considered male

Quote

In the original Japanese films, Godzilla and all the other monsters are referred to with gender-neutral pronouns equivalent to "it",[49] while in the English dubbed versions, Godzilla is explicitly described as a male. In his book, Godzilla co-creator Tomoyuki Tanaka suggested that the monster was probably male.[50] In the 1998 film Godzilla, the monster is referred to as a male and is depicted laying eggs through parthenogenesis.[51][52] In the Legendary Godzilla films, Godzilla is referred to as a male.[53][54]

Never. I just usually use she since Godzilla has totally laid eggs in the past. I doubt I'm at all consistent here, though. Not like the movies are either.

I think you're right. These are important questions in 2021.

I don't know about the modern Godzilla movies but the ones I wqtched as a kid always had him FINDING the egg that hatched Godzuki or whatever he's called. The only Godzilla I know that laid eggs was the American Godzilla and they even considered THAT one male for some weird reason.

Godzilla vs. Kong knows exactly what it wants to be, and invests every minute of its two hours living up to that promise.

Read the review. Seems like a fun ride with some awesome visual effects and plenty of Kong and Godzilla fighting. I'll definitely check this out.

The marketing for that movie was utterly fantastic though

The toys were cool as well. I should rewatch it. It's been minute and I am always down for war porn and kaiju even if it's a lame one in this case.

The soundtrack was also dope. I probably still have the CD somewhere.

I had to stop watching before I finished because I was at work. Just got home and finishing up now... the 4K Bluray of this is going to be amazing.

EDIT: These have to be the DUMBEST humans in a Godzilla movie to date :p

THAT is a bold statement, ohhhh brother!

Two minor dislikes (Nitpicks) and one Like

Dislikes

Spoiler

This one is pretty minor, but I didn't care for Godzilla'a eyes glowing when he breathed his fire in this. It gave him a less real more cartoony look in my opinion.

Mecha Godzilla's design... I woukd have like something less clunky, a little more sleek and cooler looking. American filmmakers STILL can't design cool looking mechs and robots for shit :p

Like

Spoiler

The speed and staging of the fightscenes. These are the best big monster fight scenes to date. I really liked Godzilla's speed boost. He's is FEROCIOUS in this.

I really hope they keep this series going... maybe a crossover with Pacific Rim?

I loved it.

Like Skillz said these are hands down the dumbest most nonsensical humans to date. They sucked in the previous two Godzilla movies(I actually really enjoy them in Skull Island) but at least there was that sort of dark sense of mystery. This is just straight silly the whole time.

The monster battles are incredible. The best on film to date. I just want to watch a 2 hour battle good lord.

The score is brilliant. It reminded me of the scores from old 80’s fantasy movies and really added a sense of wonder to the scenes. Absolutely loved the music.

All in all Skull Island is still my favorite. And I missed the dark brooding look from the previous two Godzilla movies. But the fighting, dear god the fighting is so fantastic. I hope they keep this universe going but if this was the finale then what a great send off.

As a Godzilla fan it was “odd” to see Godzilla mostly as a background character.. yet at the same time he features.. I love how Kong was portrayed, he was the legit star and I worried the film would do something awful to him.. lethal weapon 2 nod was nice, film is even listed in credits

they played up Godzillas tank nature as well as Kongs smarts..

I honestly dont know how to rank these

Godzilla as a Tank... that''s the best way to describe him in this movie. He's literally a force of nature.

Spoiler

Kong just didn't stand a chance... but i did like how he was portrayed too.

And yes the humans are dumb as fuck in this but in an entertaining and endearing way... not in an annoying, I want to turn off the movie way. The director definitely got what's important about a Godzilla movie.
