b_m_b_m_b_m
That only 7 Republicans voted to convict on what is quite frankly an open and shut case for impeachment should tell krysten sinema and Joe manchin all they can say about peeling off still another three for any policy they may want to see happen

Brick
Of course he was going to get acquitted again, no one here had any doubts about that, but the fact that the Democrats just rolled over and gave up is infuriating. McConnell played them yet again by saying he should be impeached, but delaying the hearings until after Trump isn't in office, and then acquitting because Trump isn't president anymore. He thinks being the 50th vote with the filibuster gives him power, but it's precisely the opposite. Being the 50th vote *without* the filibuster is all that gives him a swing vote. Manchin will probably bend with the right pork bribe--unlike Sinema he's not signaling that he won't budge no matter what.

Bipartisanship is also more likely with a majority vote senate. Hell, the original medicare program that LBJ was pushing for had a whip.count of 55 in favor. Once passage was inevitable, more senators jumped on

Commissar SFLUFAN
Yesterday was the first anniversary of my father's passing and I called my mother to see how she was doing. She was absolutely furious at the retreat by the Democrats on calling witnesses and said that she was sure that my father would've felt identically.
