BasemntDweller2 solidifies his lead going into the final week of the regular season!  After holding on to the top spot with few serious challenges for the latter half of the season, is his position yet secure?  
 

########## WEEK 16 RESULTS ##########


Week 16 Feature Game: Buffalo Bills (-7.5) at New England Patriots
The Bills routed the hapless crew from New England by a score of 30.5(38-7.5)-9.  Slug was the only player who took a shot on the upset and failed.

 

QUESTIONS 

1) What will be the first scoring play of the Feature Game? Bills TD, Bills FG, Bills safety, Patriots TD, Patriots FG, Patriots safety, or other? ($2,000 for the correct call)
An early first quarter field goal had the Pats feeling pretty good about their chances. That feeling would not hold up.  Slug was the only player to get this one right.

 

2) Which team in the Feature Game will average the most yards per play? ($1,500 for the correct team)
Buffalo averaged 6.7 yards per play to New England's 4.2.

 

3) Atlanta @ Kansas City: Over or under 53.5 points? ($1,500 for the right guess)
With a combined 31 points, the under gets it. BasemntDweller2 was the only player to call this correctly.

 

4) Name any two teams that combine for LESS than 25 points. They do not have to be playing each other. ($2,000 a correct combo)
If you called a correct combination, you got the cash.  But you didn't, so you didn't.

 

5) Call the winners:
Philadelphia at Dallas
Indianapolis at Pittsburgh
Denver at L.A. Chargers
($1,500 for EACH correct named game winner, $3,000 bonus if you call all 3 correctly)
A sweep for the home teams!  Nobody earned the bonus.
 

6) Will any single receiver catch 3 or more touchdowns in Week 16? ($1,500 for the correct guess)
We actually had two players hit this mark, Stefon Diggs and Davante Adams with 3 TDs a piece. The yesses get it.
 

7) The Browns can clinch their first playoff berth in almost two decades this week. In order for it to happen the Browns have to beat the Jets AND one of the following three things happens: the Dolphins lose to the Raiders, the Ravens lose to the Giants, or Colts lose to the Steelers.  Do the Cleveland Browns clinch their first playoff spot in 17 years in Week 16? ($1,500 for the correct answer) 
No, no they did not.
 

8) Name the player who will rush for the most yards AND the player that will have the most receiving yards in week sixteen. ($8,000 for each player named correctly, $16,000 bonus if both names are called)
Jeff Wilson Jr. grabbed the rushing title in Week 16 with 183 yards while Mike Evans takes off for 181 yards and the receiving crown.  Nobody called either player.

WEEK 17 MOCK GAMBLING - SPREAD AND QUESTIONS 

 

DEADLINE FOR WEEK 17 ENTRIES - Sunday, 1/3/2020 12:59pm EASTERN
THREAD WILL BE LOCKED AT THE DEADLINE SO GET YOUR ENTRIES IN!

Washington Football Team (-1.5) at Phiadelphia Eagles
(Remember you are betting against the spread)


QUESTIONS 

1) What will be the first scoring play of the Feature Game? Football Team TD, Football Team FG, Football Team safety, Eagles TD, Eagles FG, Eagles safety, or other? ($3,000 for the correct call)
 

2) Which team in the feature game will have the most penalties thrown and accepted against them? ($2,000 for the correct team)
 

3) How many touchdowns will be scored in the Seattle @ San Francisco game? ($2,000 for the right guess)
 

4) Will any single player record 3 or more sacks in Week 17? ($2,000 a correct guess)


5) Call the winners:
NY Jets at New England
Las Vegas at Denver
Arizona at L.A. Rams
($2,000 for EACH correct named game winner, $4,000 bonus if you call all 3 correctly)

 

6) Name any 2 teams that both attain 30 or more points in Week 17 ($3,000 for two correct teams)
 

7) Of the teams still in the hunt for a playoff spot, if the season ended today the Colts, Cardinals, Cowboys and Giants would be left on the outside. Do any of these teams make the playoffs when the dust settles on Week 17? ($2,000 for the correct answer) 

 

8) Name the player who will rush for the most yards AND the player that will have the most receiving yards in week seventeen. ($8,000 for each player named correctly, $16,000 bonus if both names are called)

Because it comes up every year, I want to take this moment to remind everyone that the end of the NFL regular season is NOT the end of the Mock Gambling Thread competition.  The MGT goes through the playoffs and ends with the Super Bowl.  Nobody is eliminated.
