Joe Biden beats Donald Trump, officially making Trump a one-term twice impeached, twice popular-vote losing president

Fake news: “Hey guys look at Hunter Biden and his connections to China and Ukraine!”

Everyone else: “Hey, so Trump’s got ACTUAL bank accounts in China.”

You know, maybe they should tape Trump’s mouth shut for the next 14 days so that he doesn’t accidentally admit he did rape that 13 year old with Epstein.

We joke about projection, and how "there's a Tweet for everything" but I genuinely think if Trump came out and accused Joe of x tomorrow, a reporter could do a lot worse than to assume x is true of Trump and start looking for leads.

A poll credited with being one of the only accurate national surveys in 2016 has found a sudden tightening in the race between President Trump and Democratic challenger Joe...

They weren't accurate in 2016, they were like +3.5% favourable to Trump. They predicted he would win the popular vote.

It's one poll and also

In 2016, IBD’s poll was one of the few to predict Trump’s win — a shocking upset that caught most media and politics professionals off-guard. Its final 2016 poll found Trump ahead by 1.6 points. Ultimately, Trump lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton by 2.1 points, but won the Electoral College 304-227 thanks to narrow wins in many states.

off by 3.7 points is hardly getting 2016 right

My aunt, a crazy one I spoke of in another thread, told me Trump only paid 750$ in taxes those years because before he was president he gsve the government a loan of millions and the balance of his taxes were 1500$ the next two years 🤣

Yes Auntie Sue, the government needed a few million, so it went to Donald Trump of all people.

Debate Preview (Modified Rules Edition)

Trump is going to use his uninterrupted 2 minutes to hit Biden over the head with the Hunter laptop bullshit, which, by Thursday, will probably include heinous shit like Child Pornography. The moderator will try to keep Trump on topic. At this point, Trump will claim the entire thing is rigged against him.

The only part I am unsure about, is if Biden will lose his shit on Trump for the ugly shit Trump is going to be spewing all night long.

I have my doubts that any of this will move the needle and still think the bigger issue for democrats are the first time voters that Trump may be inspiring.

This is exactly what Trump’s going to do, and like I said, Biden has to have an answer.

The race is already tightening in the swing states—Trump’s almost within the MOE in most of them, and closer than Hillary was in PA at this point in 2016.

Quote

Start with Pennsylvania, since that’s the state most likely to become the tipping point. Trump trailed Biden by 7.3 points in the RealClearPolitics average on Oct. 12. Since then, Biden’s been below 50% in 3 out of 4 polls, and Trump has been at 45% or above in all three. For instance, look at the Reuters/Ipsos polls; compared to a week ago, Trump's deficit has been reduced from 7 points to 4 points.

Then, there is a handful of swing states closer than Pennsylvania, where Trump is tied or trailing by less than 3.8 points. In Arizona, Biden’s up by 3.1 points. In North Carolina, Biden’s up by 2 points. In Iowa, Biden’s up by 1.2 points. In Florida, Biden’s up by 1 point. In Georgia, Biden’s up by less than 1 point.

(Btw, If Trump wins the electoral college, given the leads he has had up until literally two weeks before the election, I will propose a ban on election polls until October 30 of any given presidential election year, and will reassert the relative worthlessness of polling in forecasting elections)

Current swing state poll avgs:

ME: Biden +14.5 (slightly ahead in Maine's 2nd)

VA: Biden +12.9

NM: Biden +12.8

CO: Biden +12.4

NH: Biden +11.6

NE's 2nd: Last several polls are Biden +11, +7, +6

MI: Biden +8

WI: Biden +7.3

PA: Biden +6.3

NV: Biden +6.1

AZ: Biden +3.9

FL: Biden +3.5

NC: Biden +3.2

GA: Biden +0.8

IA: Biden +0.2

OH: Trump +0.1

TX: Trump +1.2

AK: Trump +4.8

MO: Trump +6.1

There's been no noticeable tightening. 13 days left, though.

By all means, Trump should bring up Hunter over and over and also go after his drug use.

I actually saw a bit of this.
“Biden’s son isn’t in his administration, and his problems aren’t funny, or his fathers fault”.

I mean, it obviously hits with the worst of his base, but a lot of rural voters don’t like it as most of them have watched drugs destroy someone they know.

As someone that has had to watch a younger brother deal with drug issues and rehab multiple times, Trump can go fuck himself.

Trying to portray Hunter as this worthless crackhead (and possible pedophile, considering the whole laptop """""controversy""""" they're trying to push), and that reflects poorly on Biden...that's a special kind of evil.

According to a person with knowledge of what happened during the interview, Trump was unhappy that Stahl asked him tough questions regarding his rhetoric about Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) and his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as the size of the crowds at his rallies and his disputes with Anthony S. Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious-disease expert. Stahl also told him during the interview that allegations about Biden’s son Hunter were not verified and that the Obama administration did not spy on the Trump campaign. Many of the questions were about the coronavirus pandemic and his handling of it, said the person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the interview frankly.

Quote

When Trump first walked in, Stahl looked at him and said, “Are you ready for a tough interview?” The president believes “60 Minutes” will cut the interview in an unflattering way and has been talking all afternoon about how to preempt the footage, said the person familiar with the circumstances.

After 45 minutes, Trump looked at staff members and said, “I think we’re done, do you guys agree?”

The person familiar with the interview said that there are no bombshell revelations, but that Trump complained about it all day and wants to take the air out of it by releasing it early. Three aides, who were not authorized to speak publicly, said the president overreacted, and one suggested that he might actually boost the ratings of a tough interview.

Quote

A senior White House official said Trump had told aides he wanted to go after Stahl and brainstormed ideas after the session with a group of aides in the Oval Office.

“The interview was not that bad,” a White House staff member said. “It wasn’t a bad interview. She just had a tone he didn’t like.”

Couple of updates. First is Iowa (big NYT poll arrives tomorrow for it). Monmouth (great pollster) shows good numbers for Biden as Trump's lead has shrunk (Trump getting less and Biden getting more). In a high turnout model, Biden wins by 3 if the election were held today.

We'll stack this up with NYT's tomorrow.

For Nevada, Republicans have outvoted Democrats both days, which is the opposite of 2016. The difference? Significantly more Dems have voted by mail.

Elections are about many things — candidates, campaigns, issues. But, ultimately, elections are about math.

Quote

Clark Dem firewall: 41,000

Washoe Dem lead: 11,000

Statewide Dem lead: 48,000 (estimated after rurals come in)

Remember these numbers will change once I get more, later this morning, I hope. This is the best available data I have.

----Continue to keep in mind that this is an upside-down year – even in the red wave of 2014, the Republicans did not win Clark the way they had prior in the last two days in early voting. On the other hand, the Dems have never swamped the GOP in mail the way they have this cycle, which has much more than offset the in-person losses.

So far.

The mail ballots seem to have slowed down, but it’s unclear if it’s just a tabulation slowdown or an actual change in volume. Again, we will know more later.

The counting of mail in ballots started yesterday per NV law.  Of course the results won't be released until polls close on 3rd, but there shouldn't be any significant delay in election results in the state because the mail-ins are being counted now.

I feel as if PA may be the only one that doesn't do it like that. They're already counting them here in Florida as well.
