Related to the first tweet, it’s entirely possible for a bunch of federalist society hacks to give the reasoning “the constitution gives authority to appoint electoral college votes specifically to the legislature of each state, they deferred it to the people/secretary of state, and can reclaim their authority whenever the legislature sees fit”

you also can’t read the majority opinion in bush v gore or the minority opinion in Arizona legislature v Arizona independent redistricting commission and not come away with this impression

Keep in mind that Surveymonkey is considered really really bad, and the state polls, AFAIK, are a subset of the national polling and not simply done state by state.

But I wouldn't mind New Mexico being weirdly close if the rest of the map looked like that. :p

Get Cranston out there dressed again as Walter White asking to make his great state BLUE again.

I'm confused.  In a poll posted in the Discord, Biden is up in Iowa by 3.

I don't know what to believe anymore.

I'll stop worrying about Trump doing the terrible things he says he wants to do as soon as anyone in government shows they're capable of preventing him from doing them.

Sure, Trump is a weak man, so terrified at the prospect of losing that he can't even acknowledge the possibility. Sure, a lot of unconstitutional and unprecedented things would need to happen for him to really steal an election. However, Trump keeps doing unprecedented and unconstitutional things. Trusting in "the process" to take him to task is but a fools hope when we've watched investigations of his possible crimes get endlessly delayed or squashed by a DOJ that sees itself as his personal protector. When there's no possibility of a friendly Senate actually removing him, even when he's obviously guilty. When he's stacking the Supreme Court with people that believe his power is nearly limitless.

Sure, we've seen a bunch of his insane executive orders get pushed back by courts, but by and large his worst impulses have gone unchecked. The entire GOP sees his power as an extension of their own, and his failure as an existential threat to their entire movement.

If Trump, lier that he is, says he won't peacefully let go of power, I'll believe him. I'll believe him because so many of the people and systems that are in positions to prevent it have a vested interest in seeing it happen, and have repeatedly proven an unwillingness to do otherwise.

Scott’s proposal is simple and entirely unworkable. His Help America Vote Act of 2020 would require that mail-in ballots be counted within 24 hours of when voting closes on Election Day. Scott’s proposed legislation would also prevent mail-in ballots received prior to Election Day from being processed and counted until the morning of Nov. 3, contradicting state election statutes across the country including one that he signed when he was governor of Florida.
