Joe Biden beats Donald Trump, officially making Trump a one-term twice impeached, twice popular-vote losing president

That it was/is speaks volumes of the abject, unmitigated political, moral, intellectual ineptitude and failure of the Democratic leadership.

They should all be dragged into the street and shot.

No disagreement. They failed. Even with a Biden win (which still looks likelier than a Trump win), they are ineffective.

This.  This election is a clear sign that Pelosi, Schumer, and more of the older centrist Dems need to step down and let the new generation, including The Squad, take the reins.

Unfortunately the Silent Generation will pass the torch to the Boomer generation. Gen X will have to wait its turn until 2040, and Millenials in 2050. Crazy considering Canada has had a Gen X Prime Minister since 2015, and a young Boomer since 2006.

The only reason these things are close are because the Electoral College puts a thumb in the scale for Republicans. DC statehood plus repealing/replacing the Reapportionment Act and we don't have this problem.

Except you can't get statehood or change the Reapportionment Act without the Senate.

Best post on Resetera about the election:

I know it's completely unrelated but with the election going on I was just looking some stuff up and Hilary Clinton is Bill Clintons Wife? This whole time I just assumed she was his daughter. Good lord, she doesn't look in her 70's.

lol. The American Voter©.

I just woke up. Can someone catch me up? Is the consensus a Biden win once it’s counted?

What about the Senate?

Detroit has ~35% more votes to count and Trumps lead in MI is less thank 30k, Biden is strongly favored to win atm, along with a decent chunk of neighboring Oakland county as well where Biden is also leading, these are all mail ballots that have favored Biden a lot as well.

I went to bed at ~7:30pm last night, got up at 4am to hit the gym at 5:30am. When I went to bed this was on page 509, now it’s page 540. I’ve read through every page and post. Watching the slow freakout of this not being a landslide has certainly been something.

One of the other things we can also say affirmatively: Johnson voters would have been HRC voters if they had used their brains. In just about every place you look the 3-4% Johnson got seems wholly in the Biden category. That’s how Biden is over performing HRC even in places where Trump is getting a near identical vote share as 2016.

People voted for Gary Johnson only so they could find out the true mystery of what exactly is Aleppo.

Biden may still win, but it will be close in key states. And if it’s close Trump can try to call foul.

There’s no mechanism for this!

PA is really going to be this years Florida. Even if it goes dems its late processing still gives Trump something to go after to take to the courts.

But no mechanism for this

NO MECHANISM

Why hasn’t someone explained to Trump that he doesn’t have a mechanism for this?

Ok, now he’s talking about voter fraud and claiming victory for real

There’s absolutely no mechanism for this, or so I’ve been assured by the scholars of this forum.

The SCOTUS should be contacted ahead of time so they’re aware that there’s no mechanism for this

EVERYONE KNEW THIS WAS COMING

YOU KNOW DAMN WELL THAT THERE’S NO MECHANISM, BUDDY

My issue was with people that thought that SCOTUS would definitely rule in favor of Trump if it got to them.

No one claimed it was definite, the worry was always, and still is, the ATTEMPT of it and the repercussions of such an attempt. But, yo, no mechanism!

If ever you needed evidence that the Democratic Party is simply an unwieldly, non-viable Frankenstein monster of a political organization, this electoral debacle provided it.

Here’s the problem: if the DNC split into the two parties it represents, wall-street/big-business liberals and democratic-socialists, the GOP would win every god damn election every time. Now, if the GOP somehow split into Reagan-Republican Party and the Trump-Dipshit Party as well, cool.

I know quite a few people probably saw this last night, but this is it. This is everything.

this is really the nail on the head. even with Biden looking more likely to win... its just not feeling victorious. Looking at how many MORE supporters hes gained is really a punch in the gut. Just because Biden might win, Trumpism isnt going anywhere.
