  1. The first episode of HBO's Watchmen aired tonight; anyone watch it? It's been over a decade since I read the comic, and this being a sequel to it has me intrigued, and how they'll reference the events of the book. A lot more about race relations in this than I remember in the book.
  2. Might as well start it off with this thread ? what have you guys watched while the boards boards have been down? me: Rampage 2.5/5 Logan 5/5 Flower 3.5/5 Set It Up 4/5 (seriously, this was an actual good romcom)

  4. Looking forward to rewatching Darkwing Duck! https://www.newsweek.com/disney-plus-everything-coming-launch-movies-shows-1465076 https://screenrant.com/disney-plus-movies-tv-shows-launch-everything/
  5. https://www.tor.com/2018/10/02/wheel-of-time-picked-up-by-amazon-first-season-to-focus-on-moiraine/ Yiiissss. I'm only just finishing the second book but I'm excited.
  6. So the Mandalorian is cool and all but don't sleep on Apple TV's shows... I've only watched two so far but I'm hooked on both and I haven't even started the other four. Plus their movies are starting to come out. I have sneaky feeling that quality-wise, they may be the best of the bunch. I'm digging The Morning Show and Servant and I haven't watched See or For All Mankind yet. Plus the latest show, Truth be Told looks interesting too.
  7. Based on the comic series by Garth Ennis (Preacher). I never read the series, but I'm a fan of Preacher. I'm all in for this.
  8. Amazing opening. I only got through the first few episodes of season 6 so I was a little confused initially about the flash-forward scenes but otherwise this was a really great episode. Go figure it gets better with no more Felicity.
  9. Started binge watching Mad About You which i haven't watched in a long time. Anybody else binge watching a show?
  10. Just as a heads up to anyone else who was looking forward to this as much as I was: Vulture did an interview with the "President of Entertainment Networks" for AMC, Sarah Barnett. That interview can be found here and contains a few interesting pieces of news about various AMC shows. The news about Better Call Saul is summed up in this article, but the gist of it is that they are delaying the next season until 2020 because Vince Gilligan is tied up with the Breaking Bad movie. It seems like a very reasonable thing to do, IMO; as much as I love binging on a season of BCS in the spring, I'd rather they delay it to ensure the standard level of quality. Also interesting is that they noted that this may be the last season of the show since Breaking Bad was also capped at five seasons and things are quickly catching up to where they were in that show.
  11. https://io9.gizmodo.com/christopher-eccleston-opens-up-about-the-mental-health-1838254115 I wonder if that's why he didn't come back for the 50th anniversary special, not just any potential lingering bad blood between him and the showrunners but also not wanting to put himself back in an environment so strongly associated with his mental health issues.
  12. Early reviews for Apple TV+ shows are coming in and by and large it seems they're fine, but lacking any must-see shows. Engadget has a nice overview of the shows, and suggests that if there's one to watch, it's Ronald D. Moore's alt-history show For All Mankind. Overall reviews for The Morning Show, Dickinson, and See are all a bit more mixed. With only the few shows available and nothing urgently great, I imagine Apple could have some initial trouble getting subscribers. Still, worth remembering that everyone that's bought a new Apple device after September 10 gets a free year. Since my iPad was bought in April, think I'm going to hold out on paying the $5/month.
  13. Http://twitch.tv/mst3k Launched today. 24 hours a day year round. It's starting with Season 1 and going in chronological order. The channel will include broadcasts of all episodes, cast specials, interviews, Turkey Day marathons, spinoffs like Cinematic Titanic, and more. MST3K is my all time favorite show in TV history. I'm jazzed.
