  1. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/arts/television/best-drama-series.html?smid=tw-nytimes&smtyp=cur Pretty good list. While I do think there are plenty of valid criticisms against GoT, I think they should have included it in the main list. It's changed the discussion of TV shows too much to not be. I also think Halt and Catch Fire should have made the full list, but I'm glad it made the "tough omissions" list. However, the greatest sin of this article by a landslide is that there is absolutely no mention of Black Sails, perhaps the greatest TV drama ever. Seriously, if you haven't see Black Sails stop everything else and watch it.
  2. Did anyone else watch this? I watched all of the episodes in one sitting tonight (there are only 6 episodes of 30 minutes each) and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The story is not particularly original, and the conclusions that the show reaches over the course of the six episodes are likewise not particularly original or surprising, but the show has quite a bit of heart. There are some very emotional moments (both dark and light), great music, great acting, and of course tons of laughs. What did you all think?
  3. Anybody watching this? It really is very good... me and my girl binged it this week. Go in as blind as possible, try not to be annoyed by the urban millennial bullshit and enjoy a very clever show.
  4. If you haven’t watched yet on Netflix, I highly recommend doing so. Not your typical superhero show as everyone is just mentally fucked up one way or another. Great cast and some pretty good VFX too, especially for Pogo. Hopefully Netflix will announce a 2nd season being picked up soon. Also cool to see local spots near me being used in the show. The big action scene in the 2nd episode was a Target store I use to service with Pepsi before Target went belly up. Just go and watch already
  5. For Apple Streaming Service I loved this movie when I was a kid In other news, when is this Apple service ever going to launch??? They're producing a TON of content.

  7. Airwolf was such a better show than the Blue Thunder series.
  8. Holy shit I remember when a lot of this was going on but it was worse than we even knew... how the fuck is this guy still free? Oh I know...
  9. The half-season run in particular would seem to line up with the rumblings that came up after Elseworlds was done that Oliver is going to die in Barry and Kara's. People seemed pretty convinced that was the setup, but were unsure how it'd work with CoIE happening midway through the shows' seasons--and a 10-episode run in Fall 2019 would resolve that.
  10. Howard the Duck, M.O.D.O.K. headline new series, which are coming nowhere near Disney Plus. Wasn't M.O.D.O.K. on that list of "they'll never be on screen" characters you posted, @skillzdadirecta?
  11. As a refresher, Amazon spent $250M for just the rights to make a new Lord of the Rings television series, with a potential investment of $1B seeming possible. In more recent news, Amazon has been extremely secretive about the project so far, with reports that the writers are being sequestered behind some hardcore security. Still, they've also released their first teases of the project by revealing a map to explore. Yup, that's Middle Earth. Apparently the labels on the map and the text that Amazon's been releasing in their tweets could indicate that the show takes place during the second age, but I'm no Tolkien expert, so don't take my word for it. If that is true, it would mean that it's not a "Young Aragorn" show like some were speculating.
  12. I think Jessica Jones is the only one to get officially canceled BEFORE its final season dropped. There was the buzz recently about Hulu potentially reviving at least some of these shows but I'm not sure if it's anything more than a nebulous "we'd do it if the currently-nonexistent opportunity arose." https://www.thewrap.com/hulus-open-to-daredevil-or-luke-cage-originals-boss-cites-good-creative-relationship-with-marvel/
  13. Showtime has placed a 10 episode order for a Halo TV series from Awake creator Kyle Killen and Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt. For now we don't know much more than that. I'm very surprised that this is happening. I feel like Halo has lost some of it's cultural relevance, and this is likely to be an expensive show. Still, there' s absolutely potential there, and I'll be excited to see how it turns out.
  14. From the creators of Banshee and Justin Lin of Fast and Furious Fame Looking forward to this.
  15. Neil Gaiman himself This story brought a huge smile to my face. Loved the series when I was a kid. I preferred the first season where John Hurt played our storyteller. In the 2nd season they did Greek mythology with Michael Gambon taking over the role as the storyteller. Wonder if they would ask him back to play the role again. Either way, I’m giddy with school boy happinesses
  16. I really liked the 4 Iliza Shlesinger comedy specials she has on Netflix. The Degenerates and Ron White: If you Quit Listening I'll shut up specials were hilarious.

  18. Holy shit, I didn't realize it had been on for 17 years. I wanna know who's followed the show for all 17 years, let alone 1, and eagerly anticipated each episode.
