  1. A combination of North Carolina reneging on a tax rebate and "creative difficulties" led to the cancellation.
  2. Anyone else watching Gareth Evans' new TV miniseries Gangs of London? The writer/director of Merantau, The Raid: Redemption, The Raid 2, and Apostle is the co-creator and executive producer of this 9-episode miniseries about gangs in London. Evans also co-wrote and directed episodes 1 and 5. You can see a lot of The Raid and The Raid 2 in this film (particularly The Raid 2) and anyone who has been wanting more Raid-style fight scenes will definitely get their fill with this show. Episode 1 alone had two fantastic fight sequences (I'm on episode 4 currently). All episodes are already out and have aired in the UK. I highly recommend people check this show out.

This is stupid, imo. I'm sure it will be handled fine and it will be enjoyable...but come on, just leave the old stuff alone already. So now we're getting Aksoka and Boba in Season 2. What next, Jabba Jr. and Chad Tarkin? There are strong rumours that Hayden Christensen is in a Disney+ series, either this or Obi-Wan (likely the latter).
  4. No other details at the moment. From SDCC.
  5. I saw this was at #1 on Netflix US yesterday, so I imagine someone else round these parts has seen this. For those unfamiliar, Tiger King is a documentary series on Netflix centered around a number of people involved in the private ownership of big exotic cats in the US. The characters in this series are completely insane, and even when a somewhat normal person shows up, they inevitably get sucked into the insanity. I think this series suffers from the reverse of the typical Netflix show in that it's completely insane in the beginning, but the later episodes cover events that can't quite live up to the simple introduction of the characters. Still, it's worth watching through to the end and only 7 or eight episodes. For anyone that doesn't want to watch the series, here's a story the Post did last June on the whole affair.
  6. This looks fantastic If you haven't read the book you are doing yourself a disservice.
  7. Alright, I've heard this term for years now and I have no goddamned idea what it means. Can someone here please enlightenment as to what a showrunner is and what they do that's different from a producer?
  8. Was kind of excite because of the Illya Kuvshinov designs but kind of not excite because it was just a 3D render of his design.

  10. ‘Star Wars’ Series From ‘Russian Doll’ Co-Creator Leslye Headland in the Works at Disney Plus Great news on three fronts: Russian Doll was great Takes place in different timeline than anything else Female-centric
  11. Anyone else watching? The first two episodes dropped last week (it's on FX through Hulu) of this 8 episode miniseries, with every episode written/directed by Alex Garland (wrote: 28 Days Later, Sunshine, Never Let Me Go, Dredd; wrote/directed Ex Machina and Annihilation). It's really good so far! It strangely feels most similar to Nicolas Winding Refn's miniseries Too Old to Die Young in it's slower pacing and methodical filmmaking but with more energy and momentum. If you're a fan of Alex Garland, I highly recommend checking it out.
  12. The trio will front One World: Together at Home featuring a slew of A-list stars on Saturday April 18 between 8pm and 10pm. The event, which is curated by Lady Gaga, has been put together by social action platform Global Citizen and the World Health Organization.
