  4. Surprised not to see anything up for this yet. First episode was released today and was pretty fun with them racing American Muscle Cars in Detroit. Need to catch up on the past seasons but I might have to do that over the coming weeks

    Television Surviving R. Kelly

Holy shit I remember when a lot of this was going on but it was worse than we even knew... how the fuck is this guy still free? Oh I know...
  7. Nice spoiler free teaser. ---------------- I'm rewatching the series now to get ready. It's been a long time since I revisited either the books or the early seasons. I've rewatched an episode or two during the seasons, but that's about it. I'm now up to Episode 7, "You Win or You Die," and some things are really sticking out to me. The first thing I noticed is how cheap and small it all seems. The scale is just so much smaller, and even though the production quality is still quite good, it's immediately striking to see how much better they got at everything over the years. There's zero sense of scale in King's Landing in particular. I know this is a show that went from "expensive TV" to "the most expensive TV" to "summer tentpole" levels of budget, and you can see it on screen. I really don't miss all the sexposition. It's just terrible. Not the nudity, that's fine, if unnecessary. It just never feels natural. I can maybe buy Theon spilling his guts to a prostitute, but why the hell is Littlefinger telling a few new recruits his life story as he teaches them to be better whores? I'm glad the series slowly got over the need for this kinda thing. I'd forgotten how much happens in the early run. I remember that with season 1 in particular each episode was almost exactly another 10% on my kindle, and there's just so much plot happening. One of my favorite things in media is to see a world take shape, and season one does a pretty great job at that. There's so much to introduce, and by and large the writing in season one does an excellent job of it. Not only that, but there are so many great lines (mostly verbatim from the book) that continue to resonate in the show and throughout popular culture. Anyone else hyped for season 8 and revisiting any of the show or books?

  9. Was wondering when we were gonna get our next installment something must've gone wrong though because for the last couple of days, Black Mirror kept showing up in my Netflix feed as a new release, but there were no new releases. This is a nice surprise.
  10. She's not on her show this morning, and it certainly looks like she's been fired. She'll still get paid the $69M she's owed from her recent contract.
  11. https://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/tv/ny-ent-jerry-stiller-20190110-story.html Dunno if anyone saw any links that he suffered a stroke, but I just did and Googled to make sure. Fortunately, he did not.
  12. Tim Miller (Deadpool) and David Fincher (Fight Club, The Social Network) are officially joining forces to executive produce an adult-oriented animated anthology series for Netflix. Love, Death & Robots will include 18 episodes, animated in different styles and covering a range of genres, from science fiction and fantasy to horror and comedy.
  13. Nothing funny. Nothing controversial. I didn't watch them last year, so maybe they were this bad. I don't know why I have it on.
  14. I am so late to this series. As shown by the title, The Fire is my favorite episode so far (I'm on around episode 6 or 7 in Season 2). I'm sure my favorite will change, but that episode worked on so many levels, and bringing back the, "I don't wanna be a something guy," joke at the end was a lovely callback.

  16. Through Hulu of all things..maybe that keeps the "edgy" humor? wasnt even aware of it... if it werent for the damn --Animaniacs react to Kids react to Animaniacs-- Rob Paulsen with the updated countries of the world song too.. The real conflict is if given the choice with Greg Wiseman...what would I choose between Young Justice, Spectacular Spiderman, and Gargoyles
  17. awww yeah we are back baby. I will be drunk watching these over the next few weekends as is the proper method. Episode 1: Mac and Me The film is an unabashed ET rip off that is just built for riffing and the show does not hold back. This is easily one of the best episodes of the new series, great jokes and solid host segments. They have cut the episodes down to about 80 minutes which makes no sense to me since they are on Netflix exclusively now and they don't have to worry about time slots or commercial breaks.
