About Me

  2. The mod's progress can be followed at its site. *So what else do we know about the mod? Looking at the information given by the modders on their blog and subreddit, they want Fallout Miami to be comparable to official DLC, with "a main quest, multiple side quests, new items and a large cast of voiced characters". If you hadn't guessed from the name already, the mod is set in Miami beach, with a map size "slightly larger than Far Harbor". The core subject matter of the mod seems to be an "ideological struggle between Order and Freedom," which seems to sit nicely with themes found in previous Fallout games such as New Vegas.*

  4. https://kotaku.com/star-citizen-backer-sues-to-get-4-500-back-loses-1827666550 I've been a pretty big skeptic of this game for a long time. If you are cool with chucking money into it and have the means, have at it. But $4,500 and then you feel duped? Please. AT THE SAME TIME - I feel like the dev is full of shit as well. I just can't believe the support they've gotten.
  5. https://beta.icons.gg/ Official Early Access release is July 12th. Yeah, I've been enjoying the hell out of this. It's a blast to play, the netcode is great, and the F2P systems seem well implemented so far. Characters and cosmetics will be unlockable by playing, or you can pay $25 for immediate access to all fighters present and future. Highly recommended it to anyone who's ever enjoyed Smash, or wants to see what the fuss is about without commitment. I think it already plays better than most of them, especially online. (/leaner thread for new boards)
  6. Blizzard has tweaked the charging structure for World of Warcraft, meaning there are effectively no upfront fees to start playing the long-running MMO. Users were formerly required to purchase a Battle Chest for a flat, upfront fee in order to start the game, with this charge excluding ongoing monthly subscription prices. But that's apparently a thing of the past. Battle Chests are no longer available on Battle.net, and the revised subscription page advises that users are now able to jump straight in with only their monthly fees to worry about.
  7. A typo found in the INI file after all this time appears to be one of the major causes for terrible AI mechanics in the game. Thankfully typo's are easy to fix! LOLGearboxLOL

  9. The update launched last week for the Steam and GOG versions of Desperados, bringing support for Windows 7, 8, and 10, plus Mac and Linux. For years, playing this game on modern systems involved downloading rando files off the Internet, installing a tool, and poking around with all sorts of settings.

  12. I started playing Cuphead recently and I've been using the 360 controller. I feel like it's holding me back a lot, because of the D pad. It's not precise enough, IMO. Any suggestions on a controller I should use with a better D pad? edit: I added a poll to the OP, hope it mess up anything lol. edit 2: If you vote for the X1 Elite controller, please explain why it's worth $200.
  13. A recently discovered hole in Valve's API allowed observers to generate extremely precise and publicly accessible data for the total number of players for thousands of Steam games. While Valve has now closed this inadvertent data leak, Ars can still provide the data it revealed as a historical record of the aggregate popularity of a large portion of the Steam library. Here is a CSV file if you're so inclined.
  14. I remember some people here played this quite a bit in the past. It was on sale for 55% off last week so I picked it up. I played for a few hours to get the feel of it, and I think I like it. I already have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, and I have ordered a Thrustmaster t16000m to go along with it. I will use the t16000m as my left joystick, and the 3D Pro as my right. I think I'll enjoy this better than a HOTAS since I can use the left joystick for 6dof thrust and my right joystick for 6dof pitch/yaw/roll. So far I've just bummed around and explored a system or two and shot some bounty. The biggest hurdle so far seems to be just figuring out where to go. Apparently I was fined 100 credits for firing within range of a station...but I don't know where to pay this fine, and the game doesn't say. Stuff like that. It's also hard to keep track of where stars are and to keep things pinned in the radar/compass. For instance, if I have a star locked that I want to jump to, do I really need to just keep rotating until I see it on my view, or is there a way to tell using the compass/radar where it is in relation to my current heading? Any other useful tips are appreciated!

  18. I just renewed my subscription and I'm surprisingly having a blast with it despite its age.
  19. I had a 1080 I sold last summer hoping to fetch a decent price before the next Gen cards came out. Of course this was right before the mining craze :| Anyway, I got a major itch to play some Farming Sim so I bought a 1070ti for roughly $100 more than I sold my 1080 for last summer. I would be srupid not to return it and wait for an 1170, right? It’ll be a 10% restocking fee but I think that is the right move?
  20. I got an invite for PC. Installed and fired it up. Runs like complete ass on my PC, which makes me sad (980ti, 4770k, 16G DDR3, SSD). I saw other people in the chat complain about performance as well. I’m sure they will optimize it soon. I played a round of conquest. It was the map in Norway which was getting a lot of press. Its tough to gauge due to performance, but it was definitely fun. The new bleedout mechanic is funny and cool. Guns feel good. TTK is super fast now, almost COD fast. Anyway, anyone else get an invite and want to play a few rounds LMK. Same username origin.
  21. Forza Horizon 4 “Horizon Life” Campaign Detailed, Opt Out of Online With One Button Press Forza Horizon 4 looks like it’s taking the open-world racing concept to the next level. In addition to seasons and a shared online world, Forza Horizon 4 is introducing Horizon Life, a new campaign that really lets players live in the game’s gorgeous world. Buy a house, take on non-racing jobs, and more! Check out the IGN First video below for more info and some new Horizon 4 footage. Here’s a rundown of what Horizon Life brings to Forza Horizon 4, courtesy of chief game designer Ben Thaker-Fell… According to Thaker-Fell, Horizon 4 will also eliminate a lot of the annoyances typically associated with shared open worlds. Players can also keep busy with Forzathon Live, a new series of optional online events that change every hour. But hey, if you still don’t want to play online, you can opt out with the press of a single button. Developer Playground Games seems to be serious about letting players tackle the game how they want. What do you think? Excited for the game? I’m impressed by what I’m seeing – let’s just hope all the online stuff works at launch! Forza Horizon 4 drifts onto PC and Xbox One on October 2.
