  1. A couple of users here know about my issue that I had this past week but I figured I'd post it here and see what you guys' thoughts are. So I have spent the past three months of the pandemic with my parents across the country from where I live (Los Angeles). I have an Xbox One S here at my parent's house and now a PS4 and a Switch along with my laptop so I'm pretty well supplied as far as gaming goes. Last week I had to fly back to my place to take care of some things and I was shocked to discover that my day one Xbox One X Scorpio edition had died. I would try to turn it on and it would power on for a second or two then cut out. I tried all of the troubleshooting steps, reseting the power supply, plugging it into a different outlet. No dice. Now I had been gone from the apartment for almost four months and the console should have been powered off during that time. I don't believe there were any power surges or outages in the apartment because no other electronics were affected and my clock in my bedroom still displayed the correct time. So I ruled out an electrical issues but here's where it gets weird. I went to power on my OG Xbox in my bedroom and that one was bricked too That one wouldn't even power on at all. So the only conclusion I could come to was that an update, pushed by MS during the time I was gone bricked these consoles. It's the only thing I can think of as again, no other electronics in the apartment displayed any issues. So... what say you?
  2. Ok, so maybe a dumb question but MS hasn't made this an easy process to set up. So basically, I'm trying to figure out the best way to set my kids up with some games. For the last few years we've been sharing an Xbox One S, my account has the Gold (and Gamepass) sub, and all the games are purchased through me. They then play their games on their own accounts on the box, like the little leeches they are I finally picked up an X1X and will be moving the 1S to their bedroom...how do I set this up so they can still play the games and use Gold? Do I leave the 1S as my "home" Xbox? I believe doing so would mean I'd lose access on the X1X if the internet went out, right? Because it wouldn't be "home"? If I leave their box as my "home", can my wife still use her own account on the 1X and have access to our stuff? aaaaagh I hate having multiple consoles lol Thanks for your help, I hope I was clear enough.
  3. Is no one playing this? I've actually been really loving it. While simple, it really does a good job of having a great loot system that makes finding new loot fun and meaningful. Also has a lot if pretty varied build potential depending on the loot u find. For whatever reason it's not a Play Anywhere title though which is bullshit since it lends itself perfectly for it.
  4. ..through the damn trilogy collection? I tried on the Xbone...said go to website. go to website, its listed but not damn price..so unless I am internet failing..im guessing the 360 marketplace is the only option...what a crock. it doesnt help that im fighting the Animal Crossing online experience (turnips!) as i search

  6. "As per some of our earlier information on Xbox "Lockhart" and the Xbox Series X, we're expecting Lockhart to be a 4TF "entry-point" to next-gen gaming, and it should effectively replace the Xbox One X. This system is designed to be affordable but will offer aspects of a next-gen experience currently unavailable to past-gen consoles, presumably in the form of NVME loading speeds and perhaps some limited ray-tracing. We have no idea about the capabilities of Lockhart outside that magical "4TF" GPU number, which came alongside more of our detailed Xbox Series X info that turned out to be accurate." "In addition to Lockhart potentially moving out of the lab into the homes of internal Microsoft testers, we've heard Team Xbox is building a replacement for its 2014 Xbox Stereo Headset. If our sourcing on this is accurate, the new headset will be fully wireless, compatible with Xbox, PC, and mobile devices, presumably via separate Bluetooth and Xbox Wireless signals" More details here, reiterating prior Fable rumors as well: https://www.windowscentral.com/okay-lets-talk-about-current-xbox-rumors-may-and-june-events-lockhart-revealed-and-more
  7. Way to go, Ninja Check out this fantastic "motivational" speech from Mixer's general manager:
  8. Currently downloading and watching other streams to get an idea of what the game is about. Interested in giving it a go.

  11. IGN Next Gen Xbox Series X costs.... Thoughts? I'm hoping they go all out and build a beast console, I'll buy it day one, I can not wait . . . I think that they are spot on, but man at that price they just won't sell well, so It could hurt, but if they are right about the CPU and GPU than this will be the closest we have ever gotten to a mid / high end gaming PC out of the gates. It's super exciting, plus I love the look of the new console. That said I'm a PS5 adopter day one too, and I think this will be my last gen of console gaming at least day one stuff. We will finally have consoles that can deliver native 4k @60fps. That is exciting, so.....thought guys and gals?

  14. The lower retail sales could be chalked up to a larger trend in the UK (and here too). But the bigger story is that "Packaged software + full game downloads of Gears 5 are much lower than prior entries of the series." Expected? Not totally. Throughout last year, Microsoft's stance was that their own games were selling ahead of expectations due to the added exposure Games Pass brought. Sea of Thieves in particular was a poster child, followed by more success stories. This is what the Games Pass effect was: The turning point came this year, with Crackdown 3, which was marketed heavily as a Game Pass project. Live-action advertisements focused on just that. $1 subscriptions. It was a cheap rental essentially, and gamers treated it as such. The game failed to chart on NPD top 20 (like Control ), but made it to #3 most played on the weekly Xbox One charts, behind Apex and Fortnite. I think that's when the public consciousness of Games Pass reached a critical mass. That could be expected to have an effect on Gears 5. By how much in the US? We'll have to wait for NPDs. But if it performs similarly to the UK, that marks a change for a big ticket franchise for them. Games Pass is obviously a longer term investment than the sale potential of a single AAA title. I don't think it'll be as much of factor for Halo Infinite - lots of people will want to own that I'd guess. But this all raises questions for how long honeymoon period with Games Pass promotions can last. Or if Netflix-style price hikes are on the cards for next-gen (with or without more competition).
  15. There are now two ways to stream Xbox games: the previously revealed xCloud, and now, console streaming. With xCloud, it's a Stadia like, cloud based streaming service to various devices. With Console streaming, your Xbox One becomes a streaming server, allowing Xbox games to be played anywhere. They didn't really give a lot of details on how this will work, or what exactly is launching in October (is it xCloud and console streaming, only the latter?). Personally, I like the idea of console streaming, but I mostly want it to work on other TVs in my home.
