  1. PC Gamer article Dungeons & Dragons company Wizards of the Coast announced today that it is opening a new studio in Austin, Texas, that will be headed up by former BioWare stalwart James Ohlen. Ohlen left BioWare last year after a 22-year career, during which he amassed design and writing credits including the Baldur's Gate series, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, and Dragon Age: Origins.
  2. Using whatever criteria bias u want (setting, gameplay, story preference)... what u recommend?
  3. There's a new set coming, so I thought that the 4 of us who actually play this game could use a new thread to chat about it. :P The Boomsday Project will launch next Tuesday, August 7th. 135 New Cards Each class gets a new Legendary minion and a Legendary spell. New Keyword: Magnetic. Mechs are back! And now you can stick some of them onto others. A new theme without a keyword: Omega cards, which have an extra powerful effect that occurs if you have 10 mana crystals. Here's a handy Imgur album of the revealed cards (via Reddit) There are some doozies in there. The final reveal livestream is happening tomorrow, August 1st, at 10AM Pacific.
  4. Didn't see this posted anywhere so I thought I'd share. Some new stuff in here I've never seen before. Still high on my most anticipated list.
  5. https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/12/19/controls-brutalist-skyscraper-is-pretty-messed-up-ign-first I love Remedy and the story's they come up with. Can't wait for this.

  7. This can be the new "what are you playing this weekend" thread. Lately, I've been completely absorbed in Persona 5. It's amazing. I played 10 hours when it first released, quit for over a year, now I'm back at it, hardcore. Just completed the 4th palace last night. I absolutely adore the mix of traditional turn-based RPG play and social simulation. I'm over 40 hours in and still have a looong way to go, but I'm enjoying the ride quite a bit.

  9. I bought the Dishonored bundle a while back, and after completing the first one (which I liked) I fell off of the second one pretty quickly and played something else. A few weeks ago, after looking through my download library on PS4, I decided to give it another go. After 20 odd hours and almost two complete playthroughs, Dishonored 2 is one hell of a videogame. While it was well received critically, I get the sense that it's a bit underrated, and it did not fare too well financially. That's a shame, because once it clicks, it's absolutely one of the most immersive, fun, and mind-blowing games I've played in years. The way that you can layer your supernatural abilities, coupled with some all-time-great level design, has led to countless incredible emergent moments through both of my playthroughs. I think I fell off initially because I played it like a straight up stealth game - be advised, it is way more fun to use the abilities that the game gives you. While you might create more "chaos", which leads to more environmental challenges and a more cynical ending (depending on how lethal you are), it absolutely seems like that is how the designers intended the game to be played. Things really open up when you start a New Game +, because you have access to all of the abilities from both protagonists, as well as all of your resources and stat buffs from the previous run. I highly recommend this game to anybody that may have fallen off of it or that was put off by the opening couple of hours. Similarly to Prey, the more you put into the game, the more you'll get out of it.
  10. Has anyone played this? It is getting ported to Switch in a couple of weeks and I am thinking of picking it up. As a Stardew Valley addict, is this going to scratch the same itch?
  11. This is a thread spurred by my recent annoyance playing Chrono Trigger. It's not as though a 24 year old game needs to come with a spoiler warning, but it was the classic case of working towards a boss, many smaller fights, came to a mini-boss and died...then I realised I hadn't saved in about an hour and then...title screen. Loaded up the game and back I was again, which I know in essence was entirely my fault, but it makes me thankful for the modern approach of that last bonfire, the entrance of the dungeon or just...coming back to life. With that in mind, are there any older gaming tropes you're glad have been laid on a boat, pushed into the ocean and set alight by a flaming arrow? Or for the sadists, any that have been retired but you wish would come back for one more tour?
  12. The end credits have begun to roll. Ask me anything about the game.
  13. BioWare hasn't revealed any official stats about the game's current userbase, though it did sell impressively in its first week, but a new player-run survey conducted through Reddit provides a clearer, yet somewhat disconcerting snapshot of Anthem's health two months after release. BioWare has posted multiple positions for game designers that will focus on item creation, combat balance, store management/rewards pipeline, and loot systems.
  14. Now that the calendar has rolled over to 2019, it's time to post our usual thread where we talk about what games in 2019 we're current playing, have completed, what we thought of 'em, etc. Remember that it's not necessary for the game to actually be released in 2019! I'm going to pick up where I left off in December by completing Metro: Last Light Redux as my first game of 2019.
