  1. I mean its not really a clone, just similar art style at most.
  2. Facebook memories finally pulls through with something that doesn't make me look back and regret everything I posted. I talked about a small band called Swarms. Decided to hit them up on Spotify and see what they were up to. My post was from 2012, I missed 2 albums since then. I started with Black Chapel Sun. Loved absolutely every song from start to finish. It's an ambient, synth, garage kind of feel to it. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what the synths remind me of, something between Stranger Things, Disasterpiece (Hyper Light Drifter, It Follows), and Jim Gurthie (Sword and Sworcery). Songs where the synths are prominent Raw Messiahs, 1 Last Look. This album is such an atmospheric delight to listen to. Everything about it was just soothing to the sense and a joy to have on in the background while I was playing WoW Classic. Definitely going into the regular rotation when I'm playing mindless games or going on a long drive. 10/10
  3. I think that would be a cool event for a season. Like the whole event is based on like dabbling in some unknown magic and you're gathering it all up and then the next season you find out its hive or taken magic and you have to spend a season cleansing yourself of everything you gathered.
  4. Considering how much Bungie has reused content in the past, its a bit of a far reach to expect them to completely redesign Shadowkeep from the ground up. That also doesn't invalidate that part of Destiny's grind is doing a lot of old and new content over and over and over. So you're options are either, shoehorn people into only doing new content where everything will get tiring much more quickly than it already is or have 75% of the game be Well of Radiance and Rally Barricades and 15% be whatever new content they come up with. The nerf is the most viable option here, even if it wasn't a power creep.

  6. Tier 2 Reckoning isn't a boss battle that requires Well of Radiance and Rally Barricades. The Hunt and The Riposte can be accomplished without Radiance, but it makes it 100x easier with it. None of those are bullet sponge encounters. The newest raid requires you to split into 3 teams of 2 in the final boss room and the more rally barricades and Wells you have the better. Almost all of the raids that have been created so far require you to break up the team at some point or another. Well of Radiance is still the optimal super with luna being the optimal exotic in these situations. I'm not sure how this isn't a power creep issue, its the optimal super by a long shot in 90% of the game. I'm not arguing that they couldn't create more interesting encounters, but are you going to redesign strikes, patrols, adventures, and public events? Probably not. EDIT: I guess in patrols and adventures its so stupid easy that it doesn't really matter what you use.
  7. I still haven't beaten the core of the game. As challenging as the main game got, the core is so much worse.
  8. The problem is that in order to create challenging content you have to account for these overpowered mechanics. Thats the reason that the reckoning is the way it is, it because it's built around the idea that you will always have a well of radiance with lunafaction equipped and a rally barricade for when well is on recharge. Same thing goes for menagerie, you basically need at least one well if not more, especially for heroic. The amount of times I've beat a reckoning tier 3, heck even tier 2 without radiance isn't very high. Its basically shoehorning you into a specific class with specific exotics with no real choice for picking something else. Min/maxing will always happen, but at least once this nerf happens at least there is some freedom in the classes and exotics you choose and running content doesn't have to be the same mechanics every time.
  9. I believe they pushed a couple back end fixes. Their Twitter was detailing all of it EDIT: This was yesterday that I saw those updates being pushed. I didn't see this was posted an hour ago
  10. Mine was only $2 for 2 months definitely would have extended it an extra month.
  11. I'm still waiting to see some gameplay that wows me, but honestly the more information that comes out the less I become interested in this.
  12. Definitely go Mesh. If you want to spend a little more out of your budget you could get the MARKUS from Ikea. I wasn't huge on this chair mostly because I like to have adjustable armrests, but its a solid chair for the price. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00103102/#/90289172
  13. I had no idea the DLC launched so quickly. My list of games I need to play just jumped from 0 to like 5 within a week.
  14. Dark Souls II is the only game on that list I'd buy that I don't already own. I feel like I should call out Deadcore as it will probably get overlooked by most people. Its actually a pretty fun fast paced 3D platformer if you are into those kinds of things. Much like Cloudbuilt and A Story About My Uncle.
  15. I too am old enough to remember those times. Times change and standards change. I'm not going to continue paying $60 for a single sitting video game just because that's how it use to be.
  16. Comparing to what exactly? Books don't typically have a large enough variance in pricing to determine what I would pay for the length and enjoyment of a book. Movies also typically have a rough time frame of 2 hours with the exception here and there and local pricing doesn't really change despite run time. So again, I don't really have a way to determine if I would pay more for length or enjoyment of a movie. I'm not even sure why we are comparing 2 different mediums. Movies are pretty much confined to 2 hours with the exception of the occasional 3-4 hour movie. They go in figuring out how to craft this story and tell it in a 2 hour experience. Games aren't restricted to that at all. For the same amount of money as $60 I'd get at least a 6-12 hour experience of going to the movies. Would you pay more than $10-$20 for a 2 hour game?
  17. I actually played this at Pax West. Honestly the 4:3 didn't bother me that much and I honestly didn't even notice it until I read those steam reviews. The quality between character models and background textures is hilarious. They put pretty much 0 time in making background textures at least half decent. It extremely jarring
  18. I'm not sure I agree with this 100%. Like I get where you are coming from. A shorter tightly controlled game can be just as rewarding and fun as a 60+ RPG, but a games length is still a factor in what I would pay for that experience. There are kind of these artificial length times with genres and if cut under those time frames by a significant margin it becomes harder to justify my $60 towards that game, no matter how well crafted it is.
  19. What you are describing sounds like the first boss I had in my world, I ended up buying a different classes weapon and after 10 tries or so finally took him down.
  20. Co-op doesn’t really work the way you think it does. It’s more like journey where random people drop in and out of your “experience”. That said it’s a fantastic souls game that I would recommend to anyone. It’s got an easier entry level and not as hard of a learning curve.
  21. Mine just shipped actually. Should have it in a week or so. I had to reroute to my new address because I sent it to my parents house a state away.
  22. I didn’t mind RE4 on Wii when I originally played it. Never beat it and probably won’t ever beat it. RE2 has spoiled me with good controls
  23. It’s mostly a multiplayer thing and a lot of the time it’s the minority “competitive” crowd. Reach introduced Sprint, armor abilities, by far the worst rendition of bloom (bloom and spread exist within the original 3 games), loadouts. Pretty much it added everything the competitive crowd didn’t want. That’s why if you look at the MLG settings for Reach and the AGL’s settings for Halo 4 they strip these settings down as much as possible. The original 3 games added new mechanics into the game that don’t require fundamental changes to things like map design or not being able to utilize your entire toolkit all times (having to choose between sprint vs engaging in battles). Things like dual wielding and equipment aren’t ruining the basics of Halo like Reach does.
  24. Halo 5 is the most divisive game in the series thus far. You could probably argue that Reach is really when it started its downfall, but a lot of people (on this forum included) have fond memories of Reach and consider it one of their favorites.
