100% I agree completely. Honestly I had a hard to expressing what I meant. Vox is just sooooo over the top goofy sometimes. I think if they scaled it back just a bit but still kept a sense of humor it would be fantastic while not feeling like an attempt to be a Critical Roll thing. If that makes sense.

Agreed. Get Netflix to give it to the Castlevania Team, and give it a slightly more serious tone. Would be a nice contrast to Vox Machina.

Each episode getting better than the last. 3rd really slowed the pace way down and did some nice character work. The dude playing Arthur is nailing the Arthur from the books. They’re sticking pretty damn close to the books so very excited so see how they handle a few things coming up.

Sbl could be contrarian and annoying but those are pretty tame flaws in the grand scheme of things. He brought a lot of other interesting takes and insight to the table. Big loss for the boards.

Watched the first episode tonight. Uhhhh it’s fucking fantastic. It wiped away the entire scent of the god awful finale of S1. It does what S1 never allowed itself to to take the time to do. Spend an entire episode slowing down and just spending time with the characters. And I really really liked S1 until the finale. Man I can’t wait for the rest of this season.

Gears of War 3 was the first game to ever make me tear up. The nostalgia of the song and the memories is brought back of playing 1 with friends had as much to do with it as the actual story beat. Last Guardian. I fucking lost it. GoW Ragnarok. Got me to tear up a few times and lose it towards the end. Might have been a couple small moments here and there I’m forgetting. The end of Ezio’s story when he was old maybe? The end of Black Flag maybe(my absolute favorite end to a game)?

Episode 3 is on TV right so I’m rewatching it. This shit is not good by any measure. Even the fights suck.

The first two episodes have been free so far. I just go to through my prime app and it hasn’t asked me to sign up for MGM+ yet 🤷🏻‍♂️

Disney just came out with a TCG. Since it’s brand new I’d imagine it’s fairly easy(and cheaper) to get into than some of the other big ones like Arkham and LotR. I wish I could find more gaming friends. At this point I more of a collector of games than someone who actually gets to play them.

Yeah I was right. They should have released one and two together. Two finishes the sort of “set up” for the story. But this was all stuff from the beginning of the book. They hit A LOT of the story beats from the books with some dialogue and scenes being straight up exact. They changed they made I thought were really well thought out. Gundlius’ interactions with Nimue being condensed to one scene saves some time. I love the characters of his Druid and betrothed sort of being combined so that it gives the show another strong female character. The only negative I have (and they’re small) are that like most new fantasy IPs(not called LotR) the show has a slightly low budget and small scale compared to what we’ve grown accustomed to. GoT and Last Kingdom did at the beginning as well so not a huge deal. And the story is moving a tad quick? I think that’s an almost impossible feeling to avoid as a book reader. I’m curious what non readers think. Great episode and a great start. Feels like they really are gonna do the books justice.

I think they’re just delaying it because with the strike there’s no one to actually promote it.

Lol I was just giving you shit. I do like that you don’t have 5 at the top. Aside from Hoth it’s by far my least favorite of the original trilogy. I’m sure if I was 50, saw it in theaters and had the finale blow my mind it would be higher. But I’m 40, saw them all out of order on VHS and the Ewok that doesn’t wake up hits WAYYYYY harder than some parental reveal every damn time 🤣

If the goal was to create the single worst ranking of Star Wars movies in the history of human kind. You sir. Have achieved a resounding success.
