    Act I may be the best section of any game ever released. It is so perfectly designed to introduce you to the world, but also allow you to make meaningful choices that affect the game immediately, but also long-term. You can just replay Act I five times and not experience much of the same story, if you choose to make different choices/actions (unless you are trying to experience all of it).

    So much this. I played about 10/15 hours 3 times before finally settling on a character I liked. I was blown away by how different almost every single encounter played out. This is the first massive RPG that I genuinely think I’ll play a second time. I’m 40+ hours in on my current play through and only now about to move to Act 2. Loving every second.

    That finale... I may have teared up a bit... not only was it better than most fantasy shows it was better than most fantasy movies.

    gonna watch tonight. Without spoiling anything. Do they try and tackle the more “grand/insane” aspects of the finale from the book? Or are they basically just tapping out on trying to adapt the books most insane stuff and it’s more like the ending to S1?

    Agreed my theory is:

      Reveal hidden contents

    Spoiler

    Agreed. I’m so glad they’ve removed “everyone loves Rand even though he’s an insufferable prick” thing. I’m also a big fan of Rand being less of a miserable prick so far.

    Its also nice that since none of the kids are particularly strong actors, Lanfear and Ishmael are brining some more chops to their scenes so it’s not such a dramatic difference when Rosmund Pike is crushing every scene she’s in haha”

    Anastasia: 7/10

    Don Bluth, ever heard of this guy? The interesting thing about his productions are they are like a Disney movie but with some ugliness to it. Anastasia is a lot like that. It's a beautifully animated musical with a cute puppy and a cool bat, but also about a real duchess murdered in a Russian revolution. This movie is like a what if story. It begins in 1916 right before Rasputin curses the Romanov family and the revolution splits up the family. Anastasia's grandmother escapes on a train to Paris while Anastasia gets amnesia and grows up in an orphanage, her only clue to her past is her necklace given to her by her grandmother. She then goes on a quest to discover her past, meeting some folks along the way that will help take her to Paris. Rasputin is still alive though and attempts to put a wrench into her plans (aka murder her).

    As a story it is fine, nothing too shocking happens. As a kid's movie seems kind of iffy. Like I said there are cute characters but the whole idea of making a children's movie about trying to murder a family is maybe not too kid friendly. That and Rasputin's limbs falling off, his skin being sucked from his body. Only the cool kids saw this right? It's got a lot of songs but I really only enjoyed a handful of them, I think the versions in the credits were actually better. In any case it's an alright movie, with some fun characters, an actually good cast, and nice animation (and good CG for the time).

    Lol this is how tons of kids movies played out in the 80’s. Lots of really dark tones. Honestly I can’t remember anyone making anything of how dark or scary parts of it were when it came out. That’s just kinda how it was haha. One of my favorite animated movies ever.

    Genuine question because I honestly don’t know. Are you to young to have a seen a lot of the non Disney animated films that came out in this time period? I only ask cause I could give you a list of others that are really good(at least in my memory) that by todays standards have much more adult themes and imagery.

    Fuck, this is so much funnier since playing BG3 :lol:

    Also, patch 3 really f’d some things up: you can’t attack (ranged/magic) or use actions through door openings now, your character has to get through the doorway. For example, if you have a character who used all of their movement points positioned at an open doorway and try to use a range attack it’ll say “path blocked” or “not enough movement” (as it tries to move them into the next room) when targeting an enemy in that next room. I’m guessing they were trying to fix the exploit some people were using where you could stack boxes at a wall and then use jump to leap over the boundary, but wound up borking regular gameplay. There’s also some major quest bugs introduced in Act II now (strange ox is in enemy form as soon as you enter last light inn and will kill Dammon unless you immediately run there and kill it before his hp runs out).

    I wish there was a way to roll back to Patch 2 tbh

    Oh thank you for posting this. The door thing happened to me last night and it was driving me nuts trying to figure out why I couldn’t attack

    The best AC games, IMO are:

    * Ezio trilogy

    * AC4: Black Flag

    * AC Odyssey

    The rest are middling.

    The Ezio trilogy story does have a special status for me because I absolutely loved the existential take that Ezio was this unfucking believable person in history, told he was the chosen, and yet he was never to be anything more than a messenger, doomed to never understand the role he played in the greater conflict or what that conflict even was.

    This is the correct ranking. Odyssey is great but the other two are SOOOO bloated and overly long with zero pay off whatsoever.

    With each AC game that Ubi releases they further enforce that they truly have no fucking clue what makes the games good and just occasionally get lucky.

    Really really liked last night's episode. Really made you feel for egwene while being trained as a damane, a long with rymas last stand. Lanfear was great as well

    Just caught up. Yeah Ep 6 is easily the best episode of this whole show so far. They did a better job in one episode conveying imprisonment and a character being broken mentality than GoT taking whole season to do poorly. Lanfear is amazing.

  8. Poets of the Fall confirmed to have recorded multiple songs for the game under their Old Gods of Asgard name they used for Alan Wake. Also actually going to be characters this time around.

    Probably just me because I love the band  in general but the sequences where they use their music are some of my favorite in all of gaming.
